Are modern fathers spending too much time with their kids?

First, we aren't talking about fatherless homes and all of that mess.
Is the increase in fathers taking more active, feminine roles (as opposed to the 1950s dad w/ his head buried in the newspaper who doesn't hug his kids trope) over the past few decades responsible for the softening, or pussification, of the western male?
I'm just asking questions.

Dads are much more involved in child care than they were 50 years ago.
In 2016, fathers reported spending an average of eight hours a week on child care – about triple the time they provided in 1965. And fathers put in about 10 hours a week on household chores in 2016, up from four hours in 1965. By comparison, mothers spent an average of about 14 hours a week on child care and 18 hours a week on housework in 2016.

PARENTS these days spend a lot more time with their offspring, or at least middle-class parents do. One analysis of 11 rich countries estimates that the average mother spent 54 minutes a day caring for children in 1965 but 104 minutes in 2012. Men do less than women, but far more than men in the past: their child-caring time has jumped from 16 minutes a day to 59.

Modern dads take parenting seriously, spending three times as much time with their children as men did two generations ago, and they're doing a lot more during that time.
Back in 1982, a whopping 43% of fathers admitted they'd never changed a diaper. Today, that number is down to about 3%, and that's great, because research indicates that when dads dress, diaper and bathe their babies, the father-child relationship grows stronger as the child grows.

My dad had 3 kids born a bit before 1982 and told me he's never changed a diaper in his life

The biggest pussies I know run away if kids are even mentioned. Being a father is the most manly thing I have ever done with my life.

Weird to think fathers spending too much time

You can never spend too much time with your kid unless you’re passing on your giant piece of shite douche bag personality. Then go drink your soy latte or organic ipa with your other douche bag friends.

Dual incomes ruined this country. Life is meant to have a provider and nurturer. If you have two providers the kids are missing out.

I'd like to see a more in depth chart on the demographics of this...

Yes. It makes the new generations soft.
Also the fact that many people don't beat their kids anymore further contributes to the softness plaguing this once great country.

Well shite, I’m POSITIVE I spend more time than that on my child.
I hope this thread isn’t serious, us wanting to be around our kids is bad now? What a joke

I think this says more about the pussification of the modern man rather than the time spent with their children.

“Life is meant to have a provider and a nurturer”....
What a dumb statement, by “life” you mean your life experiences. For most of human history both parents have been expected to nurture and provide. Hell for most of human history whole families full of generations lived together and provided/nurtured as a unit.
Should we all go move in with our cousins and in laws?
