I don’t know about my gas bill, but valentines cards are ridiculously expensive! Seven dollars for a plain card? Sheesh!

Went from $80 to $150. Normally was running 40-50 with Delta before last month. Idk what I was paying with Entergy since it was in the same bill as electricity. But this will be close to my highest utility bill month ever

This is the three year chart of natural gas spot prices at the Henry Hub:

There’s a pretty obvious reason everyone’s gas bills were so high in January.

The rates are regulated, the fuel cost is passed along at cost.

Perhaps Delta doesn’t have the purchasing power that Entergy did.

And since they can just pass along the cost… they might not be motivated.

It would be interesting to know how they buy gas. Spot pricing, monthly buys, etc.

Had an industrial customer that buys monthly that shut down and sold to market price at the end of January.

Well, I thought I was enrolled in autopay, but wasn't. I hadn't paid since October. Oops! Owed $405 for 4 months.

Mine was within reason. We ran the crap out of the gas fireplace and actually ran the heaters in the house for the first time. I was expecting it to be higher.

The bill just came in for the prior month. Holy crap!

I used 20% less gas in February, and the bill was HIGHER than last month.

And natural gas has settled back down into the $3-range for the entire month of February. I checked.

What gives? Are these guys shysters?

$258.

The highest gas bill I ever got from Entergy was $63.

Delta needs to be investigated. How the frick do you justify a 4x rate increase?

My bill in GA has been up year over year as well.

Natural gas prices are up this year, certainly impacting prices for the end users like us.

I would like to know the % of people who still haven’t enrolled for Delta bill pay in the Baton Rouge area since the change was made.

We were usually under $100 before Delta took over. It has increased every month since. We just got a bill for almost $400 for February.

Mine was the highest I've ever seen one in 28 years of home ownership...Is it related to increasing LNG exports relatively shrinking supply here and driving up the price? Not an economist, just curious.
