I agree with that but FW is still cheaper and quicker to play. They have about as many ‘challenging’ holes as CM. At least you get penalize at FW for hitting it offline with the driver. CM is wide open bomb and gouge. I think we paid $44 to ride 18 at FW a few months ago. There was only one other group out there on a Sunday evening.
Bendelow, what will it take to make this happen?

I’ll drive another mile and play Fennwood twice before I pay $100 to play CM.
He’s a golfer, not an accountant.

My last two times playing it

-great drive, 5w to four feet, made birdie
-hooked driver, tried to draw 3w that I thinned into the abyss, took drop, 56* over back of green, chipped it 20’ past the hole, 3 putt.

I hate that hole and #10

Complete crap

He owns his own business. Off of Highland road on Petroleum Drive. Been a boat driver and mechanic for a long time.
There has been a massive uptick in students playing CP in the last week. We went to an event there last night and I must’ve seen 20-30 young people playing in the hour we were there.
I was switching back and forth watching Boo, Brandt, and A Fitz and even ventured over to LIV for a bit. Was a good day to watch golf.

I tried watching it last night and it was just awful.
Not even close to a fair comparison.

Thompson Creek has incredible current in that bend and dramatically changing elevations due to rain fall. It’s not just about scour but sand boil and flooding.
He’s not in the golf course business. He’s making the investment in the community in which he lives and owns multiple businesses.

The Bluffs only chance of making it is renovating the existing holes, minus the six holes along the creek. But that would require more land purchase (SFV property is expensive), and losing that original footprint and views would make it tough to sell at the $150/ round price point it would need to survive.
He has FU money. He knows it won’t turn a profit. He doesn’t care.

Their greens were incredibly hard and quick prior to the reno.

Recent rains have them pushed up from their normal hiding spots along Bayou Manchac.

Word is years ago they mauled an old guy to death for jumping down the cart path on 5 looking for balls.
