Protein on a salad
Posted by lsufan0229 on 1/22/26 at 10:01 am
My spouse and I went to dinner last night and both got salads. We got into a discussion about whether the protein that comes on the salad should be warm or cold. We can't seem to agree on this. Thoughts from OT?
re: Has anyone ever made it through a whole stick of chapstick using as directed?

Beside the bed chapstick and purse chapstick get finished. If it is in my car, it either melts or gets stolen by someone in the family.
re: How often do you actually sit down and read a book?

4-5 times a week. I will usually read most of the weekend or at night to wind down. My goal is 100 books a year.

My husband hid my son's fart machine in the area where their admin checked in clients coming in for meetings. When the client was checking in, he would hit the remote and it would make loud fart sounds. His admin was mortified.
One time he took a screenshot of someone's desktop, made that the background, and hid all of the icons. His coworker was trying to prepare for a presentation that morning, but every time he tried to click on an icon nothing worked.

His speech has been nothing but classy. I can’t wait to see what he does for this program.

I have pretty much stopped drinking during the week. I drink a seltzer before bed. It relaxes me, and I sleep like a baby. I wake up feeling great.

They already have an office in BR. It will just be the main headquarters now and not the Mobile office.

To go from watching him in Sons of Anarchy to this is wild. He is a talented actor.

Great show so far. It did creep me out that the mom was so comfortable with her son showering. ???? I was not expecting all of this from the title of the show.

My mother called me upset one time because her computer didn’t have Google anymore. It turns out my dad switched the homepage from Google to his work website. It took 30 mins to convince her to type in the webpage address for Google and it would appear.
re: Why does LSU admissions take Louisiana kids for granted?
Posted by lsufan0229 on 7/16/25 at 2:52 pm to L5ut1g3r
What baffles me is the government’s push to keep kids in Louisiana after college in the local workforce, but they reject Louisiana residents with good grades from LSU. More than likely, if they leave the state they won’t come back here to work.

Southside Cafe was always one of my favorites growing up in Slidell. It is still where I want to go when I visit.

Unnerving. My parents told me I couldn’t walk the lakes or to and from class without someone with me. Getting home from my restaurant shift late at night and parking on campus was scary. I used to walk with mace at all times.

Yes, how they present themselves on and off the field makes me proud to be a fan. We are all pointing all the great things these boys have accomplished.

Can we just agree that we may not always agree with Jay, but he is a classy and a great coach. He shows our boys what class is. I am proud of our team.

Anything by Emily Henry, Lucy Score, or Elin Hilderbrand. If she likes thrillers go with Freida McFadden.

Yes it runs and AC works. The oil lights may be a sensor issue.
Best place to bring a car to sell
Posted by lsufan0229 on 6/16/25 at 12:51 pm
One of our kids has a 2010 car we are trying to sell. It has a huge dent on one side, cosmetic damage, and the engine and oil lights are always on. Where is the best place to bring it in BR to get some cash for it? We understand it will be scrap pricing, but we are hoping for a couple of thousand.
Trinity Driving School

Does anyone know why they closed so abruptly? Some kids did the class, and they shut down before they got their driving in. Others put down deposits for this summer, and there is no word of how they are getting this money back.

Starbucks baristas on strike to protest new dress code
Posted by lsufan0229 on 5/15/25 at 9:45 am
LINK
Over 1,000 Starbucks employs on strike because the company is enforcing a dress code for employees. The new dress code is jeans or khakis and a black tshirt. Can someone please tell this generation that most jobs have some sort of dress code, and at some point they will have to follow rules to stay employed?

Starts projects around the house and won't finish the last little bit.
Leaves stuff scattered all over the house and tells me it is not a big deal.
Will snore loudly but will fuss at me when I grab the remote to tell me "he wasn't sleeping."
