That's insane! Over what period did it go from $56 to $220? Or is that within 4 months?

You mean to tell me that a company providing a service like natural gas to customers and is owned by a Private Equity firm is gouging customers ? GTFO.

hy don't you guys post your cubic foot charge rather than totals? Much more useful to the rest of us.

Or realize you were on levelized billing with Entergy and not with Delta.

Stumping for a million-billion dollar company ripping off everyone is certainly a choice.

I have no skin in the game nor do I know anything even about that company or care about them, but in fairness for us, we compared last month's jump up to an Entergy bill from the same time last year and it was comparable.

Anyone here compare Entergy Jan/Feb 2025 to Delta Jan/Feb 2025 as well? Just curious if it's just us. We did jump a lot in the past couple of months, but that was just a big jump within Delta. Not anything wildly different from where Entergy was last year.

We haven't really noticed any difference in Delta vs Entergy. I expect this bill to be high because it was cold in January. We had $15 summer bills with Entergy and $100 winter bills too. We only have gas heater and water heater.

I think maybe during the big snow last year ours was $150 or so.

And I thought Entergy was fricking me in the arse for being total electric.

I know we are in winter and like to use something that makes heat with either natty gas or electrons passing through a nicrome wire.

I couldn't imagine having to pay 2 large bills

Were you on levelized billing with Entergy? If so, I dont think it transferred when the switch to Delta Utilities was made. You will need to re-enroll in levelized billing.

The cost of natural gas has gone up as well. The first bill was .411754/CCF and the last bill was .630439/CCF. The higher cost of natural gas during the cold months plays a part in the increased bills. Since Delta Utilities took over my usage went from 8CCF to 52CCF and my bills range between $20 and $75/mo.

I pay my grandmother’s bills and am reimbursed by family members via venmo. Just checked. Delta is screwing everyone.
These are totals for gas charges only:
Nov-Feb 2024 (Entergy)-$131.14
Nov -Feb 2025 (Entergy)-$166.91
Nov-Jan 15 2026 (Delta)-$446.77 and still one bill left

Wow. I didn’t realize it. May need to put in a call to the PSC office. This is a 92 yo woman on a fixed income.

We are seeing price increases in Georgia as well. Not sure of the percentages off hand but it has crept up.

Natural gas prices are also higher… and as we export more they will skew higher. American energy needs to stay in America to lessen the cost of goods and manufacturing and improve the cost of living (certain politicians be damned).

Just compared mine (Jan-Feb 3025 w/ Entergy vs. Jan-Feb 2026 w/ Delta):

2025 Entergy:
Total usage: 89 Ccf
Total gas bill: $104.90
Customer charge: $10.71
Gas service: $55.33
Gas fuel adjustment (89 Ccf @ $0.4366): $38.86

2026 Delta:
Total usage: 76 Ccf
Total gas bill: $121.55
Customer charge: $10.71
Gas services (76 Ccf @ $0.5144/Ccf): $39.09
Advance metering system surcharge rider: $0.34
Gas infrastructure investment recovery rider: $6.05
Purchase gas adjustment (76 Ccf @ $0.859943/Ccf): $65.36

The “customer charge” is the same on both bills.

Entergy has a “gas service charge” but doesn’t list the other riders. That charge was $55.33 with 89 Ccf of usage, coming out to $0.6217/Ccf.

If I add up the “gas service charge” and the various riders it totals $45.48 with 76 Ccf of usage, coming out to $0.5984/CCf - less than the Entergy service fee even with the riders.

The real difference is the “gas fuel adjustment” or “purchase gas adjustment,” which is the charge for the cost of gas on the market. That fee increased from $0.4366 to $0.8599 per Ccf, about a 97% increase.

I went to the EIA website and looked at natural gas spot prices. The average Henry Hub spot price for natural gas in January 2025 was $4.13/MMBTU. The average Henry Hub spot price in January 2026 was $7.72/MMBTU. An increase of about 87%.

I don’t think there’s any grand conspiracy here. There was a huge spike in the price of gas last month.
