I’ve done 5 or so. Mostly Disney World. Dopey challenge twice. My wife is the badass though. Full IronMans.

Have a friend who ran a 100 mile marathon. After running for 23.75 hours, he crossed the finish line and was handed a....belt buckle as his prize.

I was thinking a lambo or something.

I used to run marathons when I was young and stupid. Now I'm just old and stupid.

No, but I was assistant manager at an Exxon for a couple of years.

I’ve run one marathon. I finished it in 4:10.

I wouldn’t do it again. I enjoy half marathons, but I lost three toenails during the marathon and hurt for days afterward.

I ran the Boston Marathon back in 2015. That’s the only one I’ve done, but I’d like to do another.

How did you run the Boston without a BQ?

You can run for a charity.

You can run the Boston Marathon without qualifying if you run through a charity and raise money for said charity. Which is what I did. Because, let me be clear, I WASN’T qualifying with a time of 3:05.

Used to be special ins at one time. Didn't look into it much, I wanted to
qualify. Came within 15 minutes, but that's a lot off your miles per minute
time.

I’ve heard stories of the entire body cramping the last mile and other extremely painful things happening during the run.

My cousin runs 100 mile races. Just ran one a little over a month ago at Brazos Bend State Park outside of Sugar Land, TX. Race went off at 6am and he finished top 10 at around 1:30am the next morning. This particular race was run on trails in the rain when a cold front hit and they wear handlamps to see when it is dark.

There are a lot of people that do this kind of stuff and they are held all over the U.S.

I've ran a few marathons and done an Ironman. The marathons weren't bad, but in the IM's last 5 miles my legs cramped up so bad I wasn't sure I'd be even be able to walk across the finish line. Worst cramps I've ever experienced. Stopped at every aid station during that last five miles and downed at least 10 gallons of gatorade.

There are a few ways to get the limited non-BQ spots, I was curious which way he used.

BTW serious runners HATE the non-BQ spots, people spend their life trying to earn a bib.
