I’ve heard stories of the entire body cramping the last mile and other extremely painful things happening during the run. Watching the last few hundred stragglers of the Louisiana Marathon running and walking by my house this morning with a look of misery on their faces. I think I’ll pass on that experience.

Yes. Multiple times.

Yes. The last 10k hurts, but part of the marathon is getting past that mental hurdle and keep moving to the finish.

The human body did not evolve running marathons, so no.

Done a couple half marathons. Would like to run a full one, but just not sure I can see myself committing to training enough. I'm not gonna sign up only to run for 2 hours and walk another 4.

Also, marathons are no longer extreme enough to impress anyone. Everyone has ran a marathon it seems.

Gotta run an ultra marathon now if you want to be a badass.

I have and didn’t have cramping or other significant issues. I also trained, ate right and hydrated.

Once you get your 2nd wind and let your mind accept your challenge, you will be amazed at how far you can actually run.

Hell no. Why the hell would you do that to yourself?

The first marathon is definitely the hardest. You have to bust your arse while training for months to get through it. That’s why I’ve never done one.

Training is the hardest part of the marathon. Especially if you have kids.

Run one full and several half marathons. If you dont train for it, yeah, you'll be hurting. The first one I ran, most of the pain for me was after I had finished.

Just stretch good before and you shouldn't cramp.

I enjoy running the a Disney marathons. The WDW half in January is my favorite. The medal is a Donald Duck medal

Also I went out to Disneyland and ran out there. You get a pretty nice coast to coast medal if you do one in DL and WDW in the same year.

I've done enough that I dont even particularly train properly anymore.

Marine Corps Marathon twice and Music City Marathon in Nashville once.

Anyone can do it if you train properly. Doing it fast requires much more training of course.

Cramping up usually happens to people who didn't hydrate/fuel properly during the event.
