Fully Devout Catholic, went to a Catholic School K-12.
Its more of a sacrifice for me to eat a burger than a seafood platter from Mike Andersons or a tray of boiled crawfish.
Therefore I stopped and got a cheeseburger for Lunch.

All the time. The fish rule is made up by the fish industry

Crawfish boil tonight with the fam! My first of the season and I am abstaining from eating all day in preparation.

Unless you attempt to avoid sin at all other times of your life, what is the point of avoiding meat in Fridays during Lent?

I just eat something like grilled cheese or peanut butter. Nothing saying you have to get a seafood platter

What’s even funnier is the twice a year Catholics that think they are being a good Catholic for having that fish sandwich today.

I don't. It isnt very difficult to obey the rules. Especially in Louisiana.

Yeah that’s my thought as well. It’s not a sacrifice at all especially in South La. Also I do worse things than eat meat on Friday.

Yes I eat meat. Even was I was really religious I figured that if I go to hell for eating meat on a Friday I'm doing pretty good.
Your god is petty AF if he holds that against you.

Pope Innocent the 3rd in the 13th century I think.. I think people miss the point of "fasting" as a Lenten penance. I can assure you if I go to hell it will be for things other than eating meat on Fridays during lent...

I’m sure the non catholic people do. I am not catholic.

The whole “no meat on Lenten Fridays” is beyond ridiculous. I think half the people that observe it only do so to act superior to everyone else as they order the fried catfish instead of the fried chicken.

there's few things in life less satisfying for me than a fried seafood platter.
