Twice?

OP, I try to fast on Fridays and Ash Wednesday. I agree; being a glutton on seafood is not a sacrifice.

Do you see the problem with the above?

Getting a burger is NOT a sacrifice, eating peanut butter and jelly at your desk (like I did for lunch) is.

But, hey, you're a "devout" Catholic so what do I know. Does "devout" mean you get to pick and choose what to obey in the Catholic church?

My Catholic FIL, who eats seafood EVERYDAY, is claiming to be the good Catholic by giving up land meat on Friday for Lent. LoL

Yeah I enjoyed the hell out of a Thanksgiving dinner type sandwich (turkey, dressing, cranberry sauce) today for lunch from some sandwich place.

Cause I’m not Catholic

My mom was a devout Catholic before marrying my dad, and some small things carried over. We only eat fish on Good Friday. Until then i'm good to go.

I do.

Its just down right silly to say its some kind of penance to force your self to eat only seafood on one day of the week and call it fasting.

The things us Catholics come up with.

I like how people just pretend like fish aren't living, breathing, bleeding species from the animal kingdom and aren't meat for purposes of Lent and dieting. If fish isn't meat, is it a fruit or a vegetable?

Yes. Really don’t think god cares about what I eat on certain days during a 6 week period. Being a good person and helping mankind out is more important

Sounds like someone’s going to have to work double time on the Peloton tonight.
