Anyone else feel like racism wasn’t a thing in the mid 2000s?

I was in high school back in 2005 in Nashville and remember we all had white and black friends. There were no racism issues in school or on the news that I remember.

Twitter to blame?

I definitely don't remember all of this shite in the late 90s while I was in high school.

It was but it wasn't promoted by the media like it is today.... Racists have always existed just like killers, rapists, etc....

Everything was better before social media and the media gaslighting 24/7

Ya I guess I meant that it wasn’t this big mainstream issue that had to be addressed

It’s always been there. But for the most part I think everyone has tried to get along and scorn the racist POS’s.

But now there’s big money and power to be grabbed, gotta foment the masses to believe the narrative.

It's not a big thing now in real life, but social media and a leftist media have made it into an issue that mostly doesn't exist.

Media created the racism craze in this country. That and a few prominent blacks with a voice found out stirring the racism pot pays really well.

Racism in this country is a demand that far, far exceeds the supply.

I agree with OP - last summer all the black kids that I played ball with and was friends with on Facebook all these years suddenly got all angry and started ranting about systemic oppression and all the racism they dealt with in Metairie growing up. Was really strange.

The only thing I even vaguely remember that was semi legit is this one girls dad wouldn’t let one of these guys date his daughter. But you’d think they grew up in Jim Crow south the way they moaned about Trump and George Floyd and the south and how awful they had it. Really not true - they were happy kids and we all got along really well for like 20 years.

You mean the year NOLA was declared a chocolate city by its mayor?

I'm sure it was around, but everything wasn't labeled racist like it is today.

Anything a white person does today can be labeled racist by some of these radical nut jobs.

There were always racists but it was generally recognized that true racists are rare and frowned upon by most people. Today MSM tells us that all white people are racists.

It's always existed.

We just didn't have nonsense like "arithmetic is a racist construct".

Racism was mostly something joked about in quoting bits from Chappelle’s Show when I was in HS...until senior year when Obama was elected. Racism became a big deal real f$&king quick. My school had race riots that required the police to come and break up and patrol the halls armed full time.

There is no racism. We are being gaslit by the media. Black people create hoax after hoax because they can’t find racism. The media is the enemy of the people.

Growing up I have learned two things with regards to racism:

A lot of people I knew acted in a racist manner.

Racism can easily be learned and earned, especially at a young age.

In 2008 we got hope and change. Since then everything race related has got blown out of proportion.

It's a globalist agenda to drum up dysfunction in order to do away with national sovereignty.
