I have an electric Ryobi that works extremely well. It has a ton of power. I’ve had it going on 3 years.

Same here. Getting close to 5 years, it can rotate to easily edge as well. I got the blower and hedge trimmers to go with the same batteries.

Still rocking the gas mower though, at the time I wasn't seeing many good options for electric.

Didn't think I would like it. But now i love it. Bought the blower also. Have them hanging on wall in garage. So easy to grab and go at it.

Unless I had a huge yard no way I would bother with gas nowadays. Been on electric for about 10 years. Switched to Ryobi about 5-6. Never looked back.

I don't know about weedeaters but I bought a 40v Husquvana hedge trimmer and I absolutely love it. I'm making the switch to all electric one at a time. First I'm getting ride of my gas blower.

I have a similar set up and I do not think I could go to electric either. I feel like some people that say gas is a hassle are comparing their electric purchase to poor quality gas equipment

EXACTLY! I have a Honda Dealer brand mower and Stihl Flower bed Trencher, Stihl Edger, Stihl Backpack Blower and Stihl Weedeater. I also only use Stihl Pre-mix gas. I can cut, bag, edge and spin trim my yard in about 1/2 to 3/4 time as any of my neighbors. In hot July/August I’m on my 2nd Sweet Tea before they are done. In September I’m watching Football in the backyard listening to them switching batteries. Equipment and time matters.

I have the edger , weed eater and blower. Does the lawn mower self propel like a gas. I don’t have a big yard so I was looking at the mower.

Self-propelled is a little bit more, but it is an option. It's so much lighter and easier to move than a gas mower, that I often don't even pull the lever.

Anyone have experience with the ryobi electric mowers? I’ve had my eyes on them for a year but scared it wont get the job done

I have a 40v Blaxk and Decker with a spare battery. That thing is badass. Even my dad, who still has his heavy duty stuff from the 90s, was impressed with it. The leafblower that came with it is absolutely terrible though.

I’ve got a super cheap black and decker, maybe $60 off amazon. It works for me. Get an extra battery if that’s the route you go.

Oh also, Home and Garden board is one of the best boards on here.

Yep, bought a ryobi , it is a cuttin sob.

Yeah, I have the Ryobi, as well....Very pleased with it. Went back and bought the hedge trimmer and blower, too- they all use the same battery.

Can't beat the convenience. No need to worry about mixing gas, carb gumming up, etc....

Hell to the yeah. Once you go electric you won't go back. Frick all that cord pullin' stuff. This bad boy just starts. Very powerful. Can go several trims on one charge for my yard. Takes maybe 40m to recharge. Easy to replace the line.

EGO. Various models.

Obviously depends on how much work you do, but I have a simple ryobi one that uses rechargeable batteries and it's perfect. Super light, simple, quiet, etc... It's way better than dealing with refilling gas, pulling a cord, lugging the thing around, etc....

I probably wouldn't recommend if you have acres of yard or something, but for just a normal yard and normal weed/trim work, the battery-powered ones are superior in every way. You won't look back.

If you own electric lawn equipment you probably also cut the grass in khaki's, tube socks and sandals.

And you probably open carry while cutting lawn patterns on your Craftsman Zero-Turn.

Hell yeah. I'm telling you, the EGO is the GOAT weed eater. I would get one for myself if I didn't also need a platform that could accept attachments and had a mower that could chew through thick-arse St. Aug grass.

2.5Ah is plenty for most yards, but if I recall correctly you have a fairly large spread? The smaller battery makes it a little easier to handle, but paying only $80 more for double the capacity seems like a good deal. Another 2.5Ah battery costs around $120.

I would say yes. Thinking down the road, the next step is the mower. The batteries are interchangeable. You'll want the extra juice.
