You mean you did both and mixing gas was faster?

not to mention any gas container bought in the last 15 years is impossible to pour gas out of..and i'm sure you never end up with gas on your hands or ground.

Stihl Carb kit is $25 on Amazon. 30 minutes of your time. Usually comes with a plug, filter and fuel pickup. I think all you need is a Phillips head screwdriver. Take the cover off. Unscrew The old. Screw in the new.

do you think based on my symptoms this is the issue?

i have 2 issues with it
1. hard to keep running; won't go full throttle.
2. line wraps around the base; comes out too easily even with the cutting guard attached.

issue #2 i've learned to manage by never going full throttle or else it will sling line out and before i can ease off the gas its wrapped all around the base again and i spend the next 10 minutes unwinding it and working the line back into it.

Quite possibly. Worst case scenario your out $25 and 30 minutes and wait 2 days for Prime.

As for the string I replaced the head with a head where the 3 pieces of string bend in half. Replace those pieces of string when they get short. Easy peasy.

y'all are funny.

well i bought the carb kit (figured i'll have better luck selling it on craigslist if the damn thing runs) and i bought an EGO trimmer, blower and 2 batteries.

so what happens if i walk around my yard with the stihl gas in one and and the EGO in the other? do i put on a steel-toed boot on one foot and a tube sock & birkenstock on my other?

Battered powered Hedge trimmer is so much lighter than the corded one. Makes it much easier to get stuff one handed/higher up
