You might as well buy velcro fricking tennis shoes instead of laces cause that has about the same fricking futile benefits as well since bending over and tying your fricking shoes must be a big ole fricking chore too.

your wife will be fricking a gas powered mexican soon enough.

have an electric Ryobi that works extremely well. It has a ton of power. I’ve had it going on 3 years. I also have the lawnmower and cordless blower. All 3 came with an interchangeable battery.
I have these three and electric hedge trimmers. Really like them all especially the electric mower.

Now you're bad-mouthing velcro shoes?

My personal preference for electric has nothing to do with any sort of ethical or social mores. I just like them better. They're simple, quiet, and always work. It's okay if you prefer gas. You do you.
My B&D 36v weed eater setup is 10 years old and still going strong even after being submerged in the flood of 2016.

get this, some times i start weed eating without needing to fill tank. Zoom... i'm halfway down the driveway already!
quote:Not an issue whatsoever. The charger is right fricking there. The battery goes back on the charger as soon as I'm finished. It's smart enough not to overcharge. This isn't the 90s.
About as wasted as the mental exercies of remembering... "are my batteries charged".

having fun ordering $100 + batteries when they shite the bed in a few years. Batteries shitting the bed is a certainty.

I do, when my start my weedeater with my manly pull string, i grab it and rev up the engine for the hood to all hear my dominance being inserted over my neighbors feminine ryobi.

i need to head to home depot today and want to make sure i'm making the right decision.
anyone know how much the 2.5 ego battery weighs vs the 5.0 ?
eta here we go:
trimmer: bare 7.33 lb
battery: 2.5 2.77 lb
battery: 5.0 4.87 lb
trimmer + 2.5 battery: 11.839 lb
trimmer + 5.0 battery: 14.264 lb
so roughly 2lbs more for the 5.0? does that sound right?
those numbers don't quite add up individually. i must be missing an accessory.

My blower uses an 18v battery and at 280 CFM it does just fine to clean off my driveway / sidewalk.
That’s Cute. Mine has 450cfm. I “rake” my back yard full of pine trees during halftime.

I have the Dewalt weed eater, blower, hedge trimmer, handheld sander, and have a pole saw coming in today that all use the same batteries. I love it.

Same the Lithium line. It’s very feisty, just make sure have an extra battery or two for longer jobs. Also I wouldn’t say it’s quite as strong as a gas powered for heavy edging but it more than sufficient for normal routine work.

Ok I think I got it
Here's what I'm getting:
EGO Trimmer + 5.0 battery (new): $219
EGO Blower + 2.5 battery (refurb): $147
TOTAL: $366
Best of both worlds
I have one large battery & one smaller one and 2 chargers. About to hit 'buy' at home depot.

That's awesome, I'm very happy that you have what works for you.
I grew up with pine trees and don't wish that on anybody.
I don't have any pine trees now and my lower CFM blower works just fine.

i spend less time "mixing" a 1 gal container buy pouring a pre packaged small bottle of oil that lasts me a month or more than you will spending time charging batteries and pulling your tampons out of your arse.

Technology getting better in all of them.
Usually the larger battery powered units equal about 1 tank of gas in a 25cc unit.
The smaller gas powered residential 2 strokes are around 25cc give or take a few cc per brand.
It just like anything else
- get weight down as battery can be heavy or balance the units better to offset battery weight.
- Power up using less battery
- get the batteries to last longer than 3 years across the board which eventually will happen
- get the retail price closer to a residential gas unit.
Then you will see this category go up in sales.
Next few years this category will grow in quality, power, brand choices, and lower prices.

Cad,
Stihl Carb kit is $25 on Amazon. 30 minutes of your time. Usually comes with a plug, filter and fuel pickup. I think all you need is a Phillips head screwdriver. Take the cover off. Unscrew The old. Screw in the new.
