I kind of got the vibe you are the Pokémon player and your kids are longing for a real father to teach them sports, hunting, camping, etc.

90s was the worst for sports cards. Printed to hell by multiple companies. Pokémon exploded because of people having nostalgia while sitting in their house all day because of covid and popular people doing box openings. Also people realized people could get a $40 card graded and it’s now a $200 card.

I don’t think he bothers to have those types of cards graded and is still selling them easily because of a lack of availability.

It’s been very good for a long time. At some point people will lose interest. The card industry has major highs and lows.

You think you are the solutuon but you are just as much a part of the problem. Quit taking things so seriously. This is how we get far right and left. And make no mistake both sides are whats wrong with america

We are in birthday season in this household, and the kids all love Pokemon, but the damn cards have been nearly impossible to find, so I'll pick some up if I come across them and thrown them in a box so we have them.

I was at Walmart this morning, and they had just stocked up on the big $40 boxes, $20, $15, $10 and the $4 packs. I picked up some and thought it was enough, but later I decided I should probably get some more while I could. I went back at lunch, not 3 hours later, and they were completely sold out of what was easily $2000+ in Pokemon cards.

It's absurd. What the heck is going on? Meanwhile, baseball cards sit on that aisle collecting dust.

Ummm this has been going on for 18 months now. $20 blaster boxes are now goin for $200 at card stores and ebay. You have to lineup at Target on Friday mornings to even have a chance to by cards. People are bribing distributors to be altered when Walmart stock is put out.

You got really really lucky you got anything at all.

You can usally find cards near the checkout stands at Walmart or Target. Also check for any card shops or comic shops near you.

For the best deals go to yard sales and flea markets. Can usally find old people selling their kids' old cards some that are work a frick ton.

What does the grading do? Is it like a rare baseball card?

what kind of idiot is paying thousands for these worthless pieces of paper?

What kind of idiot pays good money for sports cards? It's all about rarity and collectors. Also now that millenials are starting to make good money you'll only see the price in old cards raise

If you’re in BR, I recommend hitting up Little Wars across the street from Town Center to buy Pokémon cards. In Prarieville, Gamers Paradise would be your stop. Lafayette has And Books Too.

I’ll tell ya what’s fricking weird... Pokémon cards being more popular than baseball cards. That’s fricking weird. It is what it is, though.

Funny thing...I explained to my kids that I thought that baseball cards were way cooler. I told them how I used to sort them, and look at the stats on the back. They looked at me dumbfounded and asked “so you could t battle them.” At that point I realized that maybe their Pokémon cards are cooler than our baseball cards were. You couldn’t play a game with the baseball cards. Whereas you can with the Pokémon cards.

I mean I’ve enjoyed the series (primarily the first two editions), but never the cards. I find those to be ridiculous.

Yeah, never into Pokémon cards, but they make more sense to me than baseball cards. Sorry, when it comes to people in sports, collect autographs and not cards.
