Do an Astros game on a Friday night. Fireworks after.

Do NOT go to the Galleria.

Nasa is in Webster ("South Houston")

Depends. You talking about this coming weekend, or in a few months like October?

Fall and Spring time, there can actually be some good stuff outside, or nice walkability for families. This time of year…it’s freaking arse hot.

You talking about the Margaritaville Resort? That place is pretty cool. We go there a couple times a year. Nice pool area and they have boat rentals that you can go pull the kids on tubes out on Conroe. Actually decent boats too. Golf course there is ok. All of this and you are literally an hour or so from the rest of Houston.

As everyone said, what do you want to do? What are the ages of your kids? Astros game, Natural History Museum, Zoo, Children's Museum, NASA. Can certainly fill a weekend. Are they so great that I'd I make a trip for it on its own.....probably not, but if you are already coming for something, you can fill a weekend.

A family trip is usually away from Houston.

Take it to San Antonio area for Fiesta Texas, Seaworld, Schlitterbahn, tubing Comal & Guadalupe, some hiking in hill country and of course the Alamo.

Stop at Houston’s Buccees near Katy TX if really need Htown itch scratched.

Got a quick, related question for you Houston baws: Took the kiddos over there this past weekend for the Astros finale. Spent the night on Sunday and kids wanted to go to a mall on the north side of Houston Monday morning.

Did the Waze route and ended up on a toll road. Sam Houston? Figured NBD, I'd pay whatever when we exited. After we were en route we saw signs stating no cash accepted, only EZPass. We drove about 4 miles on the toll road and exited through the cameras. Do y'all know if they send you a fee bill like Florida or something else? Is it a "prepare thy anus" situation or just pay the toll and move on?

Tubing the Comal is fun. We stay in some cabins right on the river pretty much upstream of where everyone goes in. This place is at a shallow spot in the river so we pretty much set up some chairs in the water and drink all day if we aren’t tubing. My buddy brings a nerf football and we throw it to random people. Honestly we meet all kinds of people doing that. It’s a riot cause we haze them unmercifully if they drop it and typically everyone else on the river is watching.

Right next to a Top Golf! Plus you are close to NASA and Kemah area. Could even head to Galveston for a day if that is your thing. Not a bad drive to get to an Astros' game from that part of town either.

I want to take my son to an Astros game. Had anyone ever stayed at the Marriott across the street from Minute Maid that has the Texas shaped lazy river? Worth the extra money?

When I was a kid, my dad took us to Astroworld/Waterworld every summer back in the early 2000's. It's a shame it closed. There was all kinds of restaurants nearby as well.

Why not?! Watching people jump from the second level, onto the ice rink, and breaking legs might be entertaining.

Hilton Americas, go watch an Astros game, got some good Mexican on Navigation Street, El Tiempo is my favorite, or Huynh if you like Vietnamese, across I-69 from Daikin Park. Depending on how old your kids are, Museum of Natural Science isn't far from there either

Depends on the number of days and how old your kid is but if he's young enough yeah the Texas pool can be fun there's also the aquarium that's nearby And then the Astros game

might be weekends worth Friday night thru a Sunday

But the Galleria is not what it used to be. There are regularly shootings in the area in the parking garage
Houston doesn't claim to be a tourist town so more than a weekend maybe toss in NASA

again if the kids young enough

Otherwise San Antonio /Fredericksburg has been mentioned
