re: Help- Flatter Back swing drills - TheLSUriot
Wrists look okay. Maybe bring that elbow in some. Ever try to swing keeping a foam ball in between your forearms? Had an instructor suggest that to me one time and it helps me keep my right elbow close and flatten the swing a bit....

re: 2019 Lacassine Thread—In Da Pool Edition - TheLSUriot
For me, the worst days to fish there are sunny clear sky no wind days. But even then will see or spook a lot of fish and can still catch something. Windy cloudy days are generally money for the way I like to fish that place. Don't remember ever not boating at least 1. That was weird. Hope to make a...

re: 2019 Lacassine Thread—In Da Pool Edition - TheLSUriot
My father and I were out there Sat morning. We managed a few bites. Tried frogs, creature baits, worms, flukes, and spinnerbait. Nothing worked! Only witnessed 2 fish caught by other boats. Weather was alright at first but damn it got cold when the wind picked up and the sun didn't come out. Saw doz...

I voted against it as well. Firefighters don't do shite compared to police but expect the same pay. I don't get it. The whole thing is fubar....

re: Louisiana DEQ online map: Don't eat fish caught here, don't swim there - TheLSUriot
The human body cannot absorb mercury too well anyway. Mercury is too heavy to be readily absorbed (unless in vapor form).
What??? Ethylmercury will be broken down and mostly removed from the body. But methylmercury will not. It accumulates primarily in the kidneys and brain, hence t...

re: Louisiana DEQ online map: Don't eat fish caught here, don't swim there - TheLSUriot
Around 2000 I was part of a group in college that tested for heavy metals in redfish; mercury, cadmium, arsenic, etc. Most samples had Mercury at watch levels and a few at warning levels. We sent all the data and our report to LA DEQ. Nice to see they are finally doing something like this. Simple...

re: Question about DNA science - TheLSUriot
Computer modeling exists that can generally predict what a protein would look like by taking into account characteristics such as hydrophobic/hydrophilic regions, alpha helixes, beta sheets, potential disulfide bridges. There was a project out of Stanford that used PS3s (when they first come out) fr...

re: Academy in store Sale - TheLSUriot
Randomly went to my local one yesterday and they were setting up. Found a Team Lew's HyperMag for 90 bucks. That was the only thing I bought. They has a bunch of Revo ALXs for $99, which was tempting. A ton of sports gear and clothing all 50% off. Electric turkey fryer for $40....

re: Benjamin Air Rifle Repair - TheLSUriot
Ever consider doing it yourself? I refurbished 2 last year, both 20 cal, and found it very rewarding. Mine from the 80's and my father's from the 60's. Rebuilding the piston was easy using the kits from Pyramid Air. I even refurbished the wood on mine and it came out great. Like I said not too di...
