My commuter has a 1.4L turbocharged engine. Its awesome. 35-40mpg, stick shift, doesnt totally suck arse to drive.

Got a 1.5 3 cylinder ford escape in 2024.
Gets an average of 37 MPG. I am 30 miles from work, so I burn a gallon to and from work.

I have a 2026 Buick Envista with the 3cyl Turbo. Ample power and great fuel mileage.(35+mpg)
No issues with these vehicles and an Envista with the Avenier package is 30-32k.

Don't know about the Chevy, but the Nissan 3 cyl. is a giant POS waiting to fall apart. Stay far, far away.
Suspect any other 3 cyl. is an underpowered overworked POS also.

Not going to win a race, but these are good affordable cars. You can get a well equipped Trax in the low 20’s.

Honestly? Pass! Those tiny turbo engines are working overtime just to move a basic crossover. Sure, fuel economy looks great on paper, but long-term reliability and high-mileage stress on a 3-cylinder are huge red flags in my book.
