Can easily do 20 pullups and 100 pushups. Easily. I bet I could do the 100 curlups, it's possible I'd run out of time around 90 though. My run time right now would probably be in the 9:45-10 range, but I don't run that much. In 6 weeks I could do it in closer to 9 minutes
I bet, probably, I could…

I am sure I could hit those marks when I was 21. HOWEVER...
The stats you posted are just to get you INTO BUD/s. Making it through BUD/s is another thing entirely.
If you want to know what it's like, I suggest finding "Class 234" on Youtube. They allowed Discovery Channel to follow that class all the way through BUD/s. (It was filmed just before the 9/11 timeframe). One thing I noticed is the guys are constantly shivering with teeth chattering all through hell week. You are miserably wet and cold during it.

I could do the minimum right now.
And I’m sure a lot of us could. What makes the optimum so hard, is that’s where your lactic acid thresholds start to kill you as you speed up with each exercise to meet said optimum standards. The time between exercises(or lack there of) is the monkey wrench that a lot of fit people don’t realize, unless you’ve attempted it. Not even to mention the precision and form that’s required for every rep when you’re doing this test for keeps.

Definitely could do the minimum.
Some of the optimum wouldn’t be nice.

During Covid when the gym was closed I run running a ton and got my mile time down to 6:12 and could run over 8 miles in an hour. In like the 60 days the gyms were closed.
At the time I passed the SEAL test, I could knock back five minute miles over and over. But I also ran cross country in high school, so it wasn't a big deal. Most people can't touch a 6 minute pace. I could probably do 8 minutes uncomfortably right now. Anything faster, parts would start breaking down.

Running just blows, boring as frick
It takes a certain mindset to run, especially if you're training alone.

Easily? In 2 minutes, no you can’t.

My hat's off to you all. I like giving up too much.

I looked into it once upon a time (in my late 40s) as a training goal. The part that nobody is factoring in is the time you have between events. You have something like 5 or 10 mins to transition between the swim and other events. Then you only have 2 mins to move between the situps, push-ups and pull-ups. You have 10 mins to transition to the run after that. Its the transition times that get people.
Fwiw. The folks that only do the minimum have a 3% success rate in the 1st phase of BUDS. (Which is about 15% overall)
And certain blow hards on here, don't have a crusty old chief petty office in their ear yelling "That one doesn't count! That one doesn't count!" as the make their attempts either....

My best ever mile was 5:39, done my freshman year at the Citadel. It was, basically, untrained. I just went out and did it. I collapsed afterwards. It was our baseline test for freshman PE. I think my best 1.5 mile was just over 9 mins.

He ain't running no mile in under 10 minutes with his midget legs.

Curious if the test stops if you rest or if you could drop from the pull up bar and then get back at it
You have to be in the ready position. So if you drop from the bar, lay down on your back during sit ups, or stand up during push ups, you’re done.

This is one of the OT’est threads I’ve ever read

I could do the minimum. Swimming would probably be toughest.
Eta: hell probably most of the optimum. Only thing is I'm a slow runner

Oh the OT
Where a bunch of dudes sitting on their phone at midnight have no problems at all meeting navy seal requirements.

I did better than optimum during boot camp. 20 years later? Yeah, frick all that haha

If that swim is anything like the Army Delta's fitness tryout requirements, it isn't like you think... unless you regularly train and can swim long distances in BDU's and boots.
In the 90's I had a couple of my soldiers want to try out, so that meant I as the Platoon Sergeant, I had to as well. Made it halfway through the swim and sank like a stone, totally exhausted. But the 'old guy' whipped those young pups' scores by a significant margin (they will never know how much it physically cost to beat them).
