I know you're being sarcastic because you have your panties in a wad over this. A 3 year old running out on the dance floor in the middle of the first dance at a wedding reception and then crying and throwing a fit is the exact reason why people don't like having kids at weddings.

ETA: The kid didn't "ruin" the wedding. It was definitely something that was annoying and is not something anyone wants to deal with at a wedding though.

What does this have to do with the conversation?

Apparently it is normal to tell kids to stay away from weddings, new to me.

it's rude as frick for you to bring kids to a wedding. they aren't as cute as you think they are and no one wants to hear them screaming, crying, or getting in the way on the dance floor

Because they don't want them there. That's literally all that should matter and you don't need to know their reasons.

My reason is because I don't want to run the risk of a child doing something like was mentioned: crying during the first dance because he was taken off the dance floor and hasn't formed a mental capacity to understand why, so he cries.

Or because we are having a sit down dinner, and you can only fit so many seats, so your three children would mean excluding three friends that I actually want there.

Or because I want the parents to be able to cut loose, have fun, and stay out late to celebrate, and not leave after an hour of the reception (which is the only part anyone cares about) because it's bedtime.

and that is fine

but I'm just having a conversation about this so I was just curious as to what reasons they would list as to not want them there

calm down

I'm very calm. You're not coming to my wedding, so it's all good.

Or maybe you are...I have no clue who you are IRL. Although, your kids aren't invited, so you wouldn't be coming either way.

Just because it's not "ruined" doesn't mean they didn't have a negative impact.

Not sure if this has been discussed but the place we had our reception charged by the seat whether it was a 25 year old male or 4 year old girl same price

Plus I just didn't want kids there

My wedding was 10 years ago so not something new

The op is mad at the fact she got a no kids invite to a wedding. Plus she has no kids. And doesn't want any. So mad over nothing

am a little confused here. Who is Paxton and why would they send an invite 13 months down the line?

Are you dumb. They get married and get pregnant a few months later. Then out comes "paxton"

Get it now? No kids at wedding but they'll damn sure send out bday invites for a one yr old once they have kids

I am bored shitless at work. As soon as I'm off I'll stop posting.

But honestly, I don't really care either way. I like kids. They don't bother me. I'm getting drunk at a wedding whether they are there or not.

That's a big reason why many go with the no kids policy. They don't give a shite how old the "head" is when they're charging you per head.
