Or maybe the bride to me is already knocked up? So they will be breaking their own rule. Sort of.

Let me be more clear. I have no children, nor will ever have children.

Well then you are really worrying over nothing.

I see nothing wrong with a couple wanting an adults only wedding, its their day to do as they wish. If it were me and I had kids, I'd use it as a fun excuse to get a babysitter and have a night out.

If it's a formal wedding with a sit down dinner I could see the desire to not have a ton of everyone's children running around. Especially if space is limited.

Harsh is telling some people not to bring there kids and allowing others to do so. Having a blanket "no kids" policy is as fair as it gets.

Also, in my experience, the people with kids would be MUCH happier and enjoy themselves more if their kids stayed home.

And the people getting married (or their parents) are spending tens of thousands of dollars for this. If they ask you to shell out $15/hour so the event can be enjoyable for everyone, then either do it or don't go. It's really that simple.

If they get pregnant after the wedding the minimum for you getting a 1st birthday invite is 21 months you dolt.

Why wouldn't someone want kids at their wedding. That's just stupid. Kids make it more fun. They love to run around and dance.
Having kids at a wedding has never stopped me from having a good time. My daughter fricking loves weddings. These people sound like assholes.

We didn't do this for our wedding, we did strongly consider it though.

It's something that is pretty common on most wedding invitations I get.

It's not personal. A lot of it has to do with paying the per head fee most places charge.

I'm not disagreeing with you

although I don't think I've ever been to a wedding where the kids made it miserable or so that nobody had a good time

maybe y'all know a bunch of shitty parents or something, not sure

No, most couple don't conceive on their HM jackass.

ETA: Re-read it, I get it. Yes, my math is awful. You get the jist.

This. We didn't invite kids to our wedding, but we didn't put like an age limit on the invite or anything . I felt kind of strange about it at first since I have a very big and close family with a lot of younger cousins. But everyone enjoyed it and it turned out fine. Most people with kids told us how awesome it was to not have to worry about their kids. We got married in NOLA and almost everyone was staying at the same hotel or family had condos in walking distance. It was a drunk fest, and everyone knows kids can't hold their liquor.

Disallowing children at a wedding means I can't bring my girlfriend. No thanks.

I know one that conceived on their wedding night.

Regardless, it would still be impossible to have the kid's 1st birthday 13 months later.

Idiot.

The parents I know are fantastic parents. And when we mentioned to them it would be a "no kids allowed" event, their response was "we wouldn't have brought them anyway."

They'd much rather drink, dance, and enjoy themselves without making sure "Paxton" isn't peeing in the fountain or some other shite, and they'd also rather not have to leave the party at 8:30pm because it's already time for the kids to be in bed.
