It scares me that you think you clarified your math in a later post by saying you were giving the married couple a few months to conceive. That makes your math even more off.

I got slammed for reading an invite and not clarifying my math.

There were kids at my wedding, so its not something I would do. But I totally understand if a couple doesn't want to have them at THEIR wedding. I mean a lot of places charge per person, maybe the couple doesn't want to pay for a bunch of children.

ETA: Not sure if there is an age limit where the pay per person thing starts though.

other than the attire, I wouldn't consider the vast majority of weddings I've attended "formal"

most are just normal parties with everyone dressed up

I guess this "no kids" rule at weddings is a new fad. Seems kinda pathetic and self centered.

An Adult Occasion" - Weddings

The new PC term for "Get your fkn kids a babysitter!"

no worries here, either find a baby sitter or don't go. that being said, the middle aged bride better not say "why so many no-shows?"

I don't know about pathetic... but isn't the entire concept of a wedding / wedding reception and everything that goes into it a little self centered?

Sorry, I just find this "no kids" rule to be a tad absurd.

Ok well whatever your definition of "formal" is, it's honestly not the point.

If you shelled out $50k for an event, and preferred that it be "Adults Only", shouldn't the parents (each of which cost hundreds per head to eat and drink, which costs them nothing) with kids be respectful of the fact that this event isn't about what they want or what's convenient for them?

It's also stupid for you to get all worked up over it.
that would be you

you're the one telling other people who to invite to their wedding, I'm simply defeding those who don't want kids at theirs.

Some people want big, family oriented weddings, others want it to be upscale and formal, or maybe a drunken shite show. Who are you to tell them what to do?
