How so?

It's just the way they're going about it.

Similar to how Dems blamed everything bad on the government shutting down for a bit.

We don't know how this happened. They're basically saying Trump would have kept this from happening if he had his way.

We don't know this, yet.

So this was the inaugural run of this train? And a nearby mayor said a week ago that it wasn't safe and needed more inspections?

That would be a cross party issue. I Don't know anyone in either side against infrastructure repairs.

Also, and frick y'all who disagree... there are a few too many tongue-in-cheek posts on this thread, given the innocent lives lost/injured in this accident/incident.

Comments like the latter are amongst the 10-20% of this forum that is disturbing and shameful. When I read enough of this style of remark, I typically shut down TD for the day. If your comment is an accurate representation, wow, just wow.

I was merely laughing at someone who decided to make this incident about themselves...

And I’m also laughing at you for getting so riled up about it

I lived in Olympia and has to take I-5 to get to work in DuPont. I saw this on the news and knew instantly where that was as I drove t almost daily for several years. Very sad.

Then where's the infrastructure plan? It's been 11 months. To politicize this is disgusting. Because damn near every politician had neglected infrastructure, from the states to federal. Our bridges have been a joke for a long time.

You're better off getting a room that does laundry. They will get it cleared quick because it's the interstate.

Unlike the Weyerhaeuser train that screwed over my commute for a week years ago.

From the overhead shots it’s easy to see that the back cars must have derailed and actually slig shot around towards the engine. Talk about some serious energy.

This really hits close to home. I’ve driven underneath that track probably 3 or 4 times.
I. Can’t. Even.

My registered agent for my Washington Contractors License is in Olympia so by proxy I could have had the train fall on me. I am Literally SHAKING

They are now saying there was something on the track that caused this?

Object on tracks may be cause of deadly Amtrak derailment
