I bought 2 Levoit units about a year ago. One for the living room/kitchen (apartment) and another for my bedroom.
I bought 1 for my parents and 1 for my brother for Christmas. They immediately turned around and bought multiple units for each of their homes.
All 3 of our abodes show positive results.
I have mine set on a schedule thru the VeSync app. Basically, mine both run while I'm home. They shut off about the time I get up in the morning for work and then kick off till about 30 min from when I normally get home. Pretty sweet machines.
I just did my first filter change for the living room. The old filter is only slightly darker than the new one, but if I hold it to the light, I can see a LOT of fuzz/lint, etc. versus the brand new one.
Full disclosure: when I moved in a lil over a year ago, it was a brand spanking new apartment. Never lived in. I have no pets. I do not smoke. However, I quickly noticed that all the new materials were "gassing". Paint, flooring, etc. It kinda gave me headaches. Started using the air purifiers and noticed a marked improvement with a day or two. Headaches and "new apt" smells went away.
Highly recommended and would buy again. I'd honestly like to get one for the bathroom, but don't really have a great place to put it.

I run one at night in my bedroom on high. I like the noise it makes.
I love the white noise too. Also the soft ambient light

I got one when our son was little bc he had horrible allergies. Have had a large one run in the house ever since bc it cuts back on dust so much.

I use one in the kitchen if I cook certain foods. Or the laundry room if my wife leaves a wet towel in the hamper.

Have two of the large-room Levoit units, one for each story. They run 24/7 on the medium speed setting, don't think they make a meaningful impact on my power bill. Have the "pet-rated" HEPA filters in them, mostly seems to have reduced the overall fine dust, need to get a good air quality meter to see if they actually make a meaningful impact.

Do you spend more on filters or tampons

How does that differ from using an air purifier agnostically?

Get rid of that piece of junk, mine run at just under 7W on the 2nd speed setting, less than 5 kWh/month each. Hardly audible too.

I run a purifier 24/7 in my den. I have a Husky/Shepherd mix. That explains it.

So a commercial, actually a 30 min commercial on Nuaire? I think. Impressive.
In general, how much noise do they make? I have terrible allergies. one side of my head to always stopped up 24/7, 365 and I'm hoping this would help?

I run an ozonator,, an hour,, a couple times a week. I think it helps with the coastal mold/mildew issue.
kinda smells hospital fresh

I just bought 2. A large one in the living room that looks like R2D2. lol
And a medium one for the bedroom. They have an auto feature which turns the unit off when the air quality is at 100%.
I bought these for my sinuses. Ive had them for almost 2 weeks and I've definitely notice a difference for the better.

You understand we're designed to deal with this stuff? That's why we have nose hairs, after all.
I have one in the bedroom on auto that only kicks into high gear when I sear something in the kitchen. I still scrape shite out of my eyes every morning, and blow snot rockets 60m after I wake up. No pets, so it's my dead skin floating around. Allergist confirmed no allergies (I had a few which disappeared in my early 40s.)

I have one in the bedroom and one in my (home) office. I think most people would be stunned to see how much dust they suck up, to say nothing of the smaller particles.

A robovac going daily will cut down dust way better and force you and your family to keep the floors clear.
Room filters do work, but even in the lab we only run them when needed, not 24/7. I am sure some places run them 24/7 but usually the fans running them are power hungry. Now the ones we have a 24X48" HEPA filters as the main filter, the ones in your house will be tiny by comparison.

I agree and did that when I was single but got married and that ship sailed. Now it sits in the corner covered in dust

I don’t know how large you guy’s air purifiers are, but they can’t possibly burn much electricity at all.

Also filter changing on the ones I got is expensive too so that adds up
We get the non-genuine filters from Amazon and they work well. About half the price so they’re about $50 for a 2 pack for Levoit.

Mine Ron continuously to help deal with dog dander to which I’m allergic. So for me, the cost is worth it to keep the mutt.
