I'd put Metairie up against any enclave in the state. More fine ones per capita, and more capita.

Enjoyed that, kind of an atmospheric groove. Been appreciating bass lines more lately (I was a brass player so tended toward horn bands). The excellent young sax guy here with Ellen (Noah Hahn) is from Germany, but oddly enough when he sings in English he could go straight to Nashville.

And now, for something completely different ...
Tower of Power's "What Is Hip" played on a traditional Japanese three-string shamisen, by Shinobu Kawashima, with Juna (Princess of Funk) on bass.

The O-T needs a feature whereby we can collectively opt out if more than 50 percent reply STOP.

She has to have legs of steel to pound the bass drums like she can. Also has some original and jazz instrumentals.

So apparently your sister by adoption is still a candidate, with judicial authorization. Hmm, never a Hallmark movie though.

A week ago, listening to Sina and her usual suspects recording songs from Pink Floyd's Dark Side of the Moon, in the very same Abby Road studio in which PF recorded the original more than 50 years ago.
Forty person group effort by young musicians and singers none of whom natively speak English, with perhaps the exception of chorus leader Ronnie Grace (Veronica Moro) who is from Italy but I understand also has Canadian heritage. The other musicians and singers are from Germany, Greece, and Netherlands.

re: Raising a daughter is emotional

I've said here before that I expected to have boys to do the sports thing, but had an exceptional daughter instead. I've mentioned a couple funny episodes, and sometimes I am tempted to relate some of the surreal happenings, but surely would be downvoted to hell.
In hindsight it was by far the best thing to ever happen in my life and gave me incredible satisfaction, insight and entertainment. Wish you guys the same, except for those teen 6 months when she didn't speak to me. Mentally she had been an adult long before then, but emotionally she was still on the chronologic track.
OP, the very best thing you can do at her age is to read with her every night at bedtime. Mine was reading on her own by age 3.

I only know of her from Ghostbusters Afterlife, as Egon’s grandkid.
I saw this on tv recently and thought to myself, "I wonder who that little actress was, and if she has since done anything else." If I had googled it and saw who it was I would have been shocked to see it was the same girl on Young Sheldon. Would never have guessed.

It's the younger crowd. Many old dudes remember when women were not fat, or considered attractive because of volleyball implants and a dump truck sized rear end.

Dimi, I think you just posted my response for me. Same three.
First, daughter's health fear.
Second, I had had a cousin whose daughter was abducted and murdered. From an early age my daughter attracted comments and attention due to being very beautiful and as she grew up random people would ask to take selfie photos with her, or tv cameras would find her at sports events or fairs and festivals.
Third, the scariest illness to me is ALS. I have the greatest of admiration for Steve Gleason. Dementia would still allow eating food and other bodily functions and I guess you would be somewhat unaware of it.

I guess that is why Dillard's department store had a large ad in the newspaper for their custom bra fitting event. Wish my school guidance counselor had told me about a possible career as a professional bra fitter. I was nevertheless able through diligent practice to acquire some ability to remove them, but it would have been nice to get paid for it, even minimum wage.

Was sad to see it recently lose the Subway and Smashburger options in the food court. Couldn't compete with Cane's and Chik-Fil-A I guess.
