It’s headed that direction full speed. No surprises, really. Except the quickness of it. Can’t help but feeling data centers and AI will usher in the antichrist.

I saw a family with 3 young children walking out of the dentist. All 3 of them had an iPad and headphones on. Piece of me died seeing that. That is what being a kid is today. Not playing outside or waiting at the dentist having conversations with the family, just sitting on your butt with iPad brain rot in your own little bubble.

I went to a wedding that had a gender reveal halftime show. Good news…marriage (deep commitment to family) still important. Bad news…if it’s the last thing people do. Not good.
I see parents ‘not present’ at their kids little league baseball games on their phones, after having worked all week and farmed out their raising their kids to (nanny, daycare, etc), had date night, personal workouts, etc. over compensates gap with kids by nice clothes and Disney vacations. Just not recognizing the little things with their kids are the big things. Not good.
I see people performing life (selfies, social media videos, etc) and not living it. Really living it. For themselves. Of themselves. They care more about what others think than just living. Not good.
I see no shame. Not good.
I see division as pride for too many. Us vs Them thinking everywhere. Not good.
On the other hand, Spotify and AI are f’n awesome.

I'm exactly twice your age. No one thinks you're old.

Most rational people were more upset that he lied about it while he and his wife destroyed a young girls reputation in front of the entire world.

I blame EVERYTHING bad on social media, and the internet.

quote:This feels like the biggest one to me. I saw a post the other day of some guy saying that he went to Idaho Falls on a Sunday and by the way it looked, he said there must be 100 million illegal immigrants in the country. Also legal and refugees.
The importing of third worlders
The great plains, the mountain west and everywhere else--all those illegal midnight flights that FJB had seeding these illegal immigrants throughout the country, we're seeing the results everywhere now.
Most people don't have the stomach for mass deportation. Outside of that, how are you going to get rid of them? Pay them to leave? Most of them are low IQ, but they're cunning enough to know that it's better for them to stay and keep draining the generous resources offered to them here rather than take a one-time payout to return to their third world country (which they often vacation to, even supposed asylum seekers). The rest, like the daycare fraud Somalians, are making a mint scamming this country for everything it's worth.
In short, the country has been fundamentally changed. The way the country has been flooded with third worlders, there's nowhere to 'get away from it all' anymore. The cities have been fricked for decades, now they're filling in the rural areas. They're everywhere.
Many of the problems young men face are a direct result of having to compete with 100 million illegals, H1Bs and refugees--wage suppression, housing costs, etc. Actually young men pay taxes to support these immigrants, it's sick.

It's like a giant festering boil.
It may pop soon, the explosion will be huge, but the relief after will be great.

I’m 39 and feel the same. I was told to stop getting Starbucks though, and all of my problems have been solved.

Waiting for the “touch grass” crowd to explain how things are actually awesome when you go outside and everyone is on their phone

Watching thousandaires vehemently defend billionaires is a particularly notable symptom of late stage capitalism.

Things are always pretty chaotic but as we get older we are more aware of how bad it is.
However, things these days do seem pretty fricking bad, worse than usual, as far as crazy deranged people thanks to media, social media, etc.

It's the Democrats strategy to keep everyone divided, scared and pissed off.
I’m sure I’ll be DVd hard on this, but the blind support for either major party is a problem. Politics is a rich man’s game these days. You have to have money to run, so there’s hardly anybody in a position of power that understands the plight of the common man.

I don’t know about you guys but things seem good in my area (Denver metro). People smile and say hi to each other, drivers are mostly reasonable, service at restaurants or wherever is friendly, our neighbors talk and look out for each other. Definitely no signs of anything near collapse.

I remember reading those “crazy” religious tracts when I was a kid and one of them talking about the Antichrist, depicting them as freak looking demons. I chuckled then, you crazy Bible thumpers.
Now I see the freak demon looking Antichrist everywhere and realize, that Tract was right.

I think history will remember the boomers as the “participation trophy” generation because they got a good job with a pension and a beach house in Florida for just existing and millenials will be known as the “greatest” or “bootstrap” generation because we’ve lived through like 3 great depressions and are still gonna save the world
