They came from down the tracks on foot. They may have some things on camera but not enough to identify anyone.

Parents, like myself, have already done this. Baton Rouge has not been a town that I would allow an 18-21 year old to roam freely for the last decade. It is more noticeable when you move away, and see it from the outside looking in.

They must be new because they are non-existant on the Google street view from June of '22. Worthless Murphy originally said they got nothing helpful from any business cams.
Maybe if they just keep doing the same thing, they can get a different result.

I am not defending the mayor, or chief, or deadbeat cops who drag their feet.
But everyone needs to know that the cops, if they know something, have to keep it close to the vest.
Everyone wants up to the minute clues probably so they can be the first one to jump on here or go tell their friends so they'll look/feel important.
I am all about transparency but in cases like this, the cops need to keep their mouth shut and not tip their hand. If they know anything.
Only put out information that will lead to solving this case, nothing more.
You can bet that a lot of money is being handed out to informants and someone will talk. There is always a crack in loyalty when $s start showing up and someone needs a new pair of tennis shoes or some crack.
But everyone needs to know that the cops, if they know something, have to keep it close to the vest.

Man, I don’t know. I got a bad feeling that this investigation will be as craptastic as their Derrick Todd Lee investigation. Hope I’m wrong.

The cell phone data and IP addresses will lead to identifying the killers. Forensics need time to collect and aggregate the data, which would explain why the FBI is getting involved. BRPD doesn’t have the staff or knowledge to complete this type of work.

These are not business cams, they are intersection cams pointing right at the crime scene. One on each side, maybe 75ish yards from the tracks. The whole thing had to have been caught on gov't cam(s). Only thing I can see is they identified the vehicle and are onto it. Otherwise, why not ask for public assistance.

Most traffic cams don’t record they only stream. I’ve contacted LADOT about using them in the past and that’s what I was told. At least for the traffic cams you look at online.

Unfortunately many traffic cameras are used for just that, monitoring traffic on roads in real time. They don’t actually store footage, they just live stream it to DOTD, etc

Main part I remember was them claiming the killer was a white guy driving a white pickup truck.
