The mother-to-be met the photographer in line when she congratulated her and asked if she'd be interested in having her birth photographed. When the mother-to-be revealed she would be having a c-section via text, the photographer backed out. "A surgery isn't birth, my dear," the photographer texted the mother. "You are having a surgery to remove your baby from your abdomen. That is not birth no matter how you swing it and I for one don't want to be there to take pictures of it."

The mom-to-be uses her social media accounts to keep family, friends and followers updated on her pregnancy. But with the backlash she has received, she says she's on the verge of shutting down her account. "My page has been scrutinized by strangers all over the place," the expecting mother said. She said people have gone through her page and picked apart previous posts and therefore asked that her name not be included in this article.
What? As a woman who doesn't keep up with these kinda things, is this seriously a thing? The woman is bringing life in to the world, but in the WRONG WAY? frick these bored and judgmental women for caring how she gives birth. That is pretty fricked up.

Doctor let us choose and we had c sections for all our kids. Couldn't recommend it more.

I asked my doctor what would've happened if I would have pressed on past the 24 hours my water had been ruptured without progression..I figured surely it would've happened eventually, right?
He said that little fever I started running would've eventually turned into sepsis, and then me and my precious spawn would've both been dead soon thereafter.
Say no more!

you're a woman..is this a hot button issue to y'all? Prior to 5 minutes ago I had no idea this was even a blip on the radar. Do the vag birthers just think "well I went through a hard as frick natural birth so I'm going to take it out on everyone who didn't"?
I've never had a friend argue against c-sections, but every person I know who had one didn't do it by choice. They did it because baby or mother was in distress, baby was too large or turned the wrong way, twins, etc.
There are martyrs everywhere though. One friend who had a c-section discounted vaginal deliveries because they aren't as bad as c-sections. It's not a competition and everyone who ends up healthy with a healthy kid is a winner. I know others who would "never dream of using drugs during childbirth!" who think they're better than those who do.
To each his own. You do what is best for you and your situation and screw everyone else. Same goes for most parenting decisions; you will always find someone who disagrees with YOUR style of parenting.

Exactly what you said. I don't care what anyone says about anything regarding parenting anymore. As long as you're taking care of your children and giving them what they need, go about it however suits your family best. I don't have the time or energy to give a damn about whether or not you co slept with your kids until they were 5.

Photographer is right.... it's not birth
Posted on 2/28/17 at 7:53 pm to WG_Dawg
it's technically not a birth, but the lady didn't have to be a bitch about it.
they have to cut through layers of muscle and it never heals the way it was before the muscle was cut, that is the cause of most of the problems.

I actually think I prefer being cut in my abdomen than my hoo-ha. Just sayin.
Ill take your word for it and don't blame you. Just saying there is less risk and obviously less recovery needed from a vag birth than a c section.
Ive never even discussed my kids birth with anyone but my closest friends. Not sure who my wife talks to, but I really don't care how other peoples kids were born. Don't even really care how mine came out, just that he is here and a beast.

You're right, I'm not arguing that point. But just that I don't feel any less nor do I care to talk about it with people unless they specifically ask. Your attitude is the right one: what's important is the health and safety of your wife and baby. Everything else is just noise.

Lost in all this is the fact that it's stupid to have a photographer in the delivery room. I know it's 2017 but complications arise all the time. Save that shite for after everyone gets cleaned up.

Congratulations!!! You should post some baby pictures when it gets here.

My wife has had two babies vaginally with no epidural and 2 c-sections and the C-sections were faaaar more dificult, according to her. The natural way hirts like shite for a couple hours. The C-section screwed her up for a couple months.

We have a good friend who is successful, presumably a good wife and mother and a good person except when it comes to women having c sections. She will tell a complete stranger how terrible it is.
It baffles us.
Having a hard time understanding that mentality. Of course, I'm jaded because my daughter would have likely died because her brother crammed her breached into my wife's ribcage.

Mom tries to exclusively breastfeed and accidentally starves her son to death. To whoever was asking about the cults of judgmental mothers, I just happened across this article on my fb.

Do animals that lay eggs only count bc it passes through the vag? The aren't "born" till a later date, so not a birth by your definition. Re-think your "technically". If a baby is produced from a animal/human, it is "birth", no matter the process.
