Lived on 11th floor 1st semester of freshman year. It's kind of like the Astrodome being torn down. Memories, but it's old as hell !

LSU has a beautiful campus but Kirby Smith did not contribute to it. I always thought it was an eyesore.

Fall 1987 ninth floor through spring 1988.
Housed some out of town friends for the Whitesnake concert up in there.
Fall 90 was dirty bastard time in the house.

05-06 4th Floor, still remember that you had to walk under your own power to the elevators or they'd call the cops on ya.

They need to leave it as green-space. They don't need another residence hall. As more classes are shifting to online and future degrees will be internet based and no need for bricks and mortar.

This is a bad decision for the long term. In 20 yrs colleges will be vastly different than today.

The dorm will be trashed in 20 years, then they can use it for discounted married housing. Also, don’t forget that many of these dorms double as hotels for camps in the summer.

'94-'95 room 1401. I think I still have some of the elevator buttons in a fishbowl somewhere.

Bought weed from an LSU Men's gymnast that lived there. LSU had a top 10 Men's Gymnastics program before Title IX shut it, and the Top 10 Wrestling program, down. Kirby Smith was nice, and clean in the late 70's.

Big thing to do in fall 1990 was shite in a paper bag, set it on fire and send it down to the lobby in the elevator

6th Floor 1983-4. The elevator stank at 6am when i was headed for CC morning workouts. But I was too young and dumb to realize people were having fun just a couple of hours earlier. Bunch of us LSU jocks lived in Kirby since Broussard was so expensive for the athletic Dept. To pay for.

I was living there freshman year when 9/11 happened. It had recently been renovated then also. It wasn’t nearly as bad as most make it out to be. I cherish the year I lived there. Had a good time and met some great people. And yes, I snuck my fair share through the whore door and had relations in that place.

7th floor (I think 712) fall of 90 till spring of 92. First stop on the express elevator. Still remember the giant shite decorated as a Thanksgiving centerpiece that rode on the express elevator for about 12 hours on a day my parents happen to come by. They were like wtf is going on in this place.

eta: 1st person I met when I was moving in was superfan Mike Toole who proclaimed to everybody waiting in the lobby for the elevators that hey they have bowling in the union anybody want to go!!!

I lived there in the 90s. We created slip and slides in the halls, had kegs, and a constant flow of girls on our floor. Kirby was a dump, but it was fun.
