Brigham Young is a cult.

NGL, it's nice to see a pregame and game atmosphere where nobody is cursing/acting like total dumbarses, the women can communicate well, etc.

There's a shitload of Hawaiians that go to BYU, played there, coached there etc. I think Honolulu has a BYU campus as well. I still have no idea what the connection is between Polynesian, Samoan and Provo Utah is...but it's massive. I'm sure the answer is "follow the money/free shite/tuition" etc.

A long time ago, and I do not know the exact dates or details, but some LDS missionaries convinced a bunch of pacific islanders to move the the Utah desert. It was a disaster. The town(s) failed and many of them returned to the islands after a few years. But many of them stayed and went on to evangelize the LDS faith back on their home islands. As a result, there is a much higher prevalence of LDS pacific islanders than typical.

They aren’t any more virtuous than folks who drink responsibly on game day.

Just a heads up, the progressive tactic of "keep repeating something over and over and treat it as fact" approach doesn't work anymore.
It works all the time
Roy preached it and he was primary mentor to DJT.
#1 Deny, Deny, Deny
#2 Delay, Delay, Delay
#3 Reset the narrative in the meantime and repeat till accepted
D's keep trying to win in the courts but that takes too much time
R's have the media so they can reset the narrative
Neither side has the best interest of the average citizen but get you to blame the other side so they don't have to do anything to fix it. We have become the sheep to both. One shears us and the other slaughters us. We keep coming back for more. Sheep are too dumb to save themselves.

The liquor laws there are pretty crazy too. Every drink is measured to an exact 1 oz shot with a state regulated pour meter, and there is no such thing as a heavy pour. You also can't just walk up to the bar and order a drink for yourself and one for someone else. Every person has to get in line individually and order their own drink, and it can only be one beverage at a time (ie - no beer and a shot). You cannot order alcohol at a restaurant without also ordering food.

If there's such a thing as a good cult, then yes. Mormon people are the nicest people (as a whole) that I've ever met. By far.
I briefly dated a Mormon widow this past Summer.
She drank THC drinks instead of alcohol and was a good time.

My SIL who is Mormon was nice and happy. Especially since she got away from Utah because she was going to be in an arranged polygamous marriage

I thought of another funny sign we saw last weekend. It said "Join my book Club" and had a picture of the book of mormon. I thought that one was pretty clever. .

30+ % of Samoa is LDS. Over half of Toga is LDS. A lot of them go to BYU Hawaii and work at the Polynesian Culture Center and then eventually migrate to Utah.

What they don't tell you is that they have no qualms about popping pills so long as they are "prescribed"
