Many people are naturally interested in the royals, particularly the Brits.
I haven't seen them do anything to indicate they want people to feel sorry for them. They were trying not to talk about it at all or very little. Then, with leaks etc..., Kate addressed it vaguely. They are still trying not to talk about it much at all. People ask and they are the subjects of a lot of media. Kate gave a very brief update not likely intended for US citizens, but more for the Brits. It seems to me they would have preferred to handle it as privately as possible. That's not asking for sympathy nor is it classless, whether you care of not. I feel certain they are aware that there are many folks in the world who are facing similar challenges and who are not able to avail themselves of the same level of healthcare. They are not out there rubbing that in at all.

There is nothing in the history of media coverage of the Royals that indicates any are seeking attention; just the opposite. All / any press releases from the Royals are directed towards the Brits, millions who do care.

When well known/famous people publicize something it brings a lot of attention to the issue which is good thing.
With all the crazy shiite going on in the world people often forget how shitty cancer is.

You may not like the royals but they are (in theory) now leading a life of service to those who need. In this case, having a very public figure that isn't a media-hungry attention hound and instead is being transparent and perhap inspirational about her fight with cancer is very likely helping others with cancer on a psychological level.
There's a lot you can knock about the royals. This isn't it.

I am sorry for her, as I would be for any wife and husband going through this.it is a hard thing, no matter your financial or social status.
They'll be using strong chemo as cancer is more aggressive in the young.
If you have a problem you can write a check for, you don't have a problem, you have an expense.
She has a problem.
Ya'll are all lucky ya'll don't.
