Woohoo, more forced induction for less reliability and costlier repairs! So exciting.

You been living under a rock baw? 10 speed is the "standard" pickup tranny now, though Ram is at 8 speeds IIRC.

3.5TT like the f150 will get around 17.5mpg. Hybrid will add maybe another 50-60hp and get 21mpg.

My 3.5 eco boost gets 27 mpg on eco mode and 23.5 normal mode

If this Tundra has anything approaching those numbers I will be extremely tempted to trade in my 5.7 Tundra for a new one.

Did you tune it? My 2013 wasn't anywhere near that

Talked to someone who manages a large toyota dealership just today about this. He said the new engine will be a v6 twin turbo and then half way through the year coming out with a hybrid for the tundra. He also said they are doing away with the 5.7 and that the tundra is getting a whole makeover.

As for the Ford eccoboost, everyone I know that has them can't pull anything that has any weight. It just kills it and drinks gas. Hell when they put over size tires on it they get the same as my tundra.

I had hoped they would still offer the old 5.7 in base model fleet trims up to SR5. Or maybe as an option on all trims.

I know Toyota isn't really big on multiple engine options but still kind of hoping for this. There was a time when they had two V8's in the Tundra.

I know Toyota fleet sales aren't as big as the others but you lose the ability to have a CNG truck with the TTV6. Also it costs very little to keep the old engine around.

The domestics still sell plenty of NA V8's and Toyota will alienate a lot of customers if they axe it altogether.

If all that is available is a TTV6 I'll be holding on to my 2018 for a while.

Same for the Sequoia. Ours has the smaller V8 in it.

Yep, dealer told me the same thing. It's why I just ordered one that is being built next week. I like the V8 engine. I couldn't believe the trade they gave me. I've been wanting a Tundra for a while now, so I'm excited.

If they get rid of the V8's I'm going to be pissed off. They better come out with a diesel then.

They canceled the Land Cruiser in USA, now offer a diesel overseas... SMH

I have 172k on my Tundra. Had it not been for this shortage on vehicles I would’ve probably already made a move. I was actually leaning towards getting an SUV since I have an hour drive to work now. Looked at the Tahoe and even the 4Runner. They like that damn AT4 Tahoe. Now I think I’ll wait it out until this new one comes out with the turbo 6 and see what the specs are.

I’ve had great luck with this truck and it still purring along. Sum bitches made me get new tires with this shortage. Dropped 1k just be trading it in.

Hell, my trx hellcat truck gets 12.8 mpg with a 702 hp. motor.

eta, not a flame on the truck itself just the mpg. I owned an 08 Tundra cm and it was a rocket, it just didn’t pass up the gas station..
I don’t get all this eco boost stuff with the auto manufacturers. Give me the ponies and a larger fuel tank I’ll worry about the mpgs myself.
