With the exception of the magnets, every high school in EBR is D or F.

But...St. George is an outrage.

Woodlawn isn't a magnet, is it? They had a C.

Belaire HS, Broadmoor HS, and Tara HS all scored Fs.

Of EBR's 80 schools, 20 had a grade of "F"; 23 more had a grade of "D." 6 of the 14 lowest high schools in the state are in EBR. But hey, according the the EBR school board, things are looking up!

Horse shite. They adjusted the scale so low-performimg schools could get a trophy. Look at Ferriday High School. Some of the worst test scores in the state, but they're a B. Schools that were actually making progress were hit hard by the new scale. Legitimate B schools went to a C or D, while D or F schools went to a C or B. Everybody gets a trophy. Louisiana is the worst state for education, and I'm in education

Not sure I agree w/ that, based on the EBR results, for example... or it could just be that they suck no matter what scale is used

I did a search and it didn't return any results. We get to tell ourselves that we had the #1 school.

How does these grades compare to other states? Any scale or ranking?

I apologise and I know many on here get upset if Houston suburb area ISDs are mentioned. But how does this grading scale reflect on comparison to Dallas, Nashville, etc..?

Ascension, Lafourche, Vermilion, and Zachary are the only four districts to make an A under the new formula.

Madison & St. Helena had Fs

What’s the scale for this an A in Louisiana is still a D in Texas

This is what I don’t understand, if we want to compare ourselves to other states like Texas why don’t we just copy their accountability system so we can compare directly?

I keep hearing we need more charter schools and they just had school board elections in EBR where pro charter school candidates received a lot of money in campaign donations, and looks as if the pro charter group will pick up a couple of additional seats on the board. But, charter schools don’t seem like they are performing at a better level. What is the point of the scores if we are not looking at charter schools and realizing that it’s not working either. Why keep drawing funds away from traditional school systems for unsuccessful charter schools?

I really wish there was some way to clearly see how the grades were determined. My son's school went from a 83.3 to 70.3.
