The only way I could do Alexandria is if I lived on at least 100 acres so I could have livestock and other things to mess with like hay fields and crops. Fully gated in and secluded from the outside world.
Alec/Pineville have all the stores a common person could need. Worse case you take a day trip to BR or Lafayette to get a dose of whatever Alec lacks.
I’ll swap a low COL for conveniences of being closer to civilization.

Probably not a huge pool of buyers in the Alexandria are, would like to live inside the city, and can afford this house.
It is really, really nice. I’ve been over there a couple times and it is awesome. Quiet It would be a great place to raise kids. Plenty of room

Looks great, but I can't imagine moving to a state where they have elected a Democrat governor in the last 20 years.

Man, I miss going to Aces games with my grandpa
Posted on 1/4/24 at 7:44 pm to PikesPeak
I loved the Aces games. From 1994-1998 or so. I was new to town and broke
Lived down around the park. Would go to at least a game a week

Damn, you never see tasteful interior like that when people post expensive houses here. I like it.

Alexandria is close to Elmer. Elmer is the shite.

If I had $1.18 to blow on a house, I’d look to Boca Raton/Miami. Plenty of suburbs in the Miami area have 2,500 sq ft houses for that price.

Of all the shite hole qualities Louisiana has, this is where you draw the line?

The left side of the outside of the house looks like crap. Like some shite you’d see in Baskin. For 1.2 mil it could at least look good on the outside.

In Miami, you would get a Condo, with 1k/month maintenance and 8k a year property tax?
Even if purchased for 750k or so, maintenance and property tax doesn’t go away.

Grandfather took me to Aces games when they were a Padres farm team

We used to go back in the 70's. I moved away as soon as I graduated in 87. I never knew the Aces came back.

I used to live at Texas and Garnett on and off for about 5 years.
Granted it was a long time ago and I was college age, but it was a blast.

It’s worth it. You get way more amenities and the food scene in Miami is pretty damn nice. It’s a tropical climate, so that area stays warm even in the winters.
