I was basically banned from another site. Next year I will celebrate my 20th anniversary. I plan to have a party and to invite all of you. There will be finger foods, cocaine, and prostitutes.

Almost at 2 decades, I showed up to get info on my hometown when Katrina hit. Left for a few years and came back because the food board is really good to get recipes and some of the other boards have good info too.

Because I enjoy it. There is a great diversity of opinion which does not bother me I enjoy the debate and discussion. And a lot of stuff here just makes me laugh.

Has it changed my life, yes. Met some of my best friends from this website.
Am I addicted? Probably. At this point it's just part of my rotation of things I check all the time and it's always up.
What keeps me coming back? It's like a train wreck I can't look away from, and I like bs'ing in the the lunch threads while I'm slow at work.

I'm not sure addicted is the right word, but I suspect I am to a degree. It's more of just habit at this point, and like I said I'd rather get my news and info from here than anywhere else.

Not really ego, but I do like getting the notification that someone has responded to my posts.
All in all, this is a pretty cool place to hang online. I did enjoy it more when it was much smaller and we used to have regular OTGTs, OT bowling nights, etc. And I've met people ranging from close friends (including my wife) to people I don't care for, and everything in between. And even though I feud with some people here (like fr33, for example), most of that shite is in jest and I don't truly hate or dislike anybody from here really (except for Orko). But all in all I enjoy mixing it up with you assholes around here. It's not a bad way to kill time and shoot the shite.
