re: Mary Hartman, Mary Hartman .....Who Remembers Watching?
Posted by tiger94gop on 7/8/26 at 7:53 am to SouthEasternKaiju
For some reason, they used to run the show in syndication after 12:00 am around here. I know I watched it, but don't remember much. It may have been the only slot available. I don't think it was the content.
I just remember that "Soap" was infinitely better.

I have been the unfortunate to have to jump out of the way of the JBE motorcade more than once.
It just always irritated me when he would go flying by all the traffic and cause such a mess, when he could have stayed at the Mansion and save the taxpayers a ton of money not having 4 SUVs and 4 motorcycles working to protect his sorry carcass.

re: Dog vs UPS Driver vs dog owner... who you got?
Posted by tiger94gop on 7/2/26 at 7:25 am to CleverUserName
I am sure UPS has some of the same systems as Amazon.
I was changing my oil, and an Amazon delivery driver blew her horn. I went to get my package, and she said; "this says you have a dog". She was looking at her tablet. So, she asked if I could take the package.
Our Boston died a year ago, but someone along the way noted that our 18lb Boston was somewhere lurking inside.

Watch Orphan Black and you will see why a very "Mid" actress is getting work.

Tatiana Maslany has needed another vehicle to show her chops as she did in Orphan Black. I know Shehulk wasn't it and I am not sure about this. She may never get out of the Orphan Black shadow, but there is no denying her talent. This may just not be the vehicle for it.
re: Kentucky Bourbon Trail
Posted by tiger94gop on 7/1/26 at 12:42 pm to Murtown
We did it last year. We went to Maker's, Woodford, Buffalo Trace and Willet. We liked the food pairing with the bourbons. The tour guide at Willet was trashed by out late afternoon tour. Also, the barrel making factory tour was one of the best things we did.
Just be aware that each one is a good distance from the next, so it a drive. Most are out of Louisville, and many a good bit out of Louisville. We went to a few around Frankfurt and ate at some small towns around there.
We are going to Kentucky for the game, going to do a couple of distilleries the first day, then opening day at Keeneland.

Exercise your feet. There have been several threads and tons of opinions on here. Freeze a water bottle, surgery, inserts, special shoes, etc.
I have seen several articles and videos about it. I took a shot and started deadlifting barefoot and more athletic lifts standing up. I haven't had it in years. The article that convinced me showed the Indians in the Mexican Mtns that run almost a marathon a day with just a strip of leather on their feet.
You weren't born with padding on your feet and all the Dr's, etc. that prescribe cushioning are just making the muscles in your feet weaker. I see old guys at work that look like they are wearing platforms. I have also heard S&C guys say that modern trainers don't emphasize the feet enough. We don't walk or run hardly at all as a society, so training your feet should be a priority.

Any way to break that down by demographics? I bet its the same demo in State gov't as well. With close to the same percentages.

re: Police in Columbia SC arrest parent of thug child
Posted by tiger94gop on 6/23/26 at 7:15 am to SOSFAN
First time your child is arrested, your government assistance should be cut off. She doesn't care, because these kids are just paychecks. If the kid is in jail, she still gets paid. It should affect every aspect of their benefits; snap section 8 housing, etc. etc.
As the kid ages out, they have more kids it perpetuates itself.
First time you tell a black woman that her benefits get cut if the designated SSI recipient is involved with the law, this shite gets reduced with the quickness.

re: The Night Manager w/Hiddleston & Laurie
Posted by tiger94gop on 6/16/26 at 8:27 am to GeauxTigerTM
Laurie was on the last season of Tehran along with the Scientist who dies in the cave with RDJ in Ironman. He is a really good Arab bad guy in everything he does.
TNM is great series that launched a few Marvel careers. TH as well as the Girl who is in Guardians 2.
Laurie seems to like stretching his legs as a "Villian". He plays one in Tehran as well.
The story is a little farfetched in TNM, but it does make for a great series.

A large part of this is occurring in areas that at one time were nice areas or places where students lived. They are now becoming Section 8. If you really wanted to fight a lot of this and disperse these pockets of garbage, Sid could up the code enforcement division. Go to these properties and actively look for code violations and start fining this place. Expedite the seizure process and as soon as possible, send these up to auction. Knock the buildings down as soon as possible and tack that onto the bill.

re: What was this judge doing in the mud and trash behind the Swamp Chicken Daiquiris?
Posted by tiger94gop on 6/10/26 at 7:55 am to arseinclarse
Swamp Chicken is in unincorporated St Amant. Gonzales had nothing to do with it. If this is happening, it seems he is on the wrong side of someone. He pretty much inherited his position from his Dad and both have had a long time to make enemies.

With streaming, music residuals have basically cratered. If these groups don't own their masters, they Touring is really the only way to make money. It also only works for the older groups. Their fans are less likely to stream . So an older band can be very profitable and if you look at the top touring acts, they are almost all older groups. With replacements for original members, some of the band's musicianship has gotten better, but they aren't the same. Many original group members couldn't play a lick and the replacements are better. Journey has had several lineup changes, but even Steve Perry can't sing anymore. The hired guns they are using as well as the current singer probably put on an overall better show, but it is essentially a tribute band.

Overall, I think this version of Survivor has run its course. The Producers have moved more towards gimmicks and plot twists than an actual game.
It definitely needs some soul searching.
Please stop bringing back past players, but they won't. It's how they generate buzz and ratings.
Too many idols and stupid twists. How about more rewards and more physical challenges.
Too much Jeff and his Botox face. it didn't even move last night.
I never liked the final questions, but it has gotten to be a real "shite show" now. They also need to go back to two possible winners. They have basically given up on the idea that these people are "surviving". Hell, the only one who lost weight this season was Rizo and only because he just got back from the last season. Every time they showed Jonathan he was eating some rice in the last two episodes. That is ridiculous.
I also think that the producers see the social part as what sells, the challenges will be marginalized more and more. It will eventually get to a bunch of people sitting around, kind of like Big Brother.

Jonathan should have won, but you have to give it to Aubrey. She was on the bottom the whole game and everytime her alliances made a move it fell apart.
Jonathan almost got zero votes during the game, and he doesn't win. I really think no one respected he and Joe's game. I think he fell back to Cirie to often and let her change his move. Then he let Rizzo take credit for getting her out.
Overall, not a great season.

Too much set up. He does this is short bursts in his other movies. This one seemed to be 3/4's of the movie. It could have used a better script. Less focus on the girl, more on backstory. This was all about the process. Not enough about how they got there. Story was pretty ridiculous, so I can see what he was doing.
