re: You ever accidentally tried to accidentally enter the wrong vehicle?

On vacation in a rental Kia, wife parked it, so I didn't know quite where it was. Went to get it and there was a Hyundai exactly like it except for badging. It was parked terribly. I keep hitting the key and nothing would happen. I went check out the car and start looking around. They guys whose car it was (probably another rental) came up and wanted to know what I was doing. I showed him what was happening, his key worked. Haven't felt that stupid in a very long time.

I/m not so sure opening China for business when the rest of the world was in shambles would lead to the exponential growth the US saw as an economic Superpower in the 40's-60's. Cheap labor would have been very detrimental to our economy as it is today. Also, the Chinese were an economic Superpower for thousands of years prior to the Japanese invasion. I don't think even the Japanese even realized how far they had fallen. An economically viable China would definitely not have led to the technical innovations from our rise as a Superpower.
The isolationism of China was very beneficial to the US. What we should have done is severely restricted commerce with the Communists. However, we would eventually have lost world markets with an influx of cheap Chinese crap. It would just have taken a lot longer without US investment.

With code violations, they should be able to fine it every day. With that in place, City may not want to, but they could fast track demolition. I've dealt with several derelict properties that were sold to investors and when they went to inspect, the city had demolished them already and the person who bought them owed the money to the city.
It probably should have been done after Katrina. Now it's exponentially worse and the Feds won't pay for it. Seems typical for the horrible government these people of the city have come to expect, embrace, and accept.

re: Would a JD5 apology to LSU fix this?

I've been watching Quarterback. You can count on one hand where they show LSU. Almost no mention. They show his room at home, no LSU memorabilia. They show his hometown stuff and even a random USC pennant.
I get that everyone else is married, but they show his mom more than Jayden. He just comes off as aloof.
It seems that LSU and ASU were business transactions to get him to the league. That was always the goal. He made it a point as well as his mom to say she has management experience and she didn't need Jayden's money (I guess ironically).
This is all about Jayden's brand being bigger than LSU. If they wanted to pay him again, everything would be fine with his camp.
He is not bigger than LSU and he would not have achieved what he did at ASU, so he owes LSU. He doesn't have to actively recruit for LSU, but his time at LSU belongs to LSU and he was compensated for that. He is no longer at LSU and looks like he considers the transaction complete.
An apology can repair a personal relationship, but this seems like his camp considered it a business relationship. If you can't work out something in business, move on to the next supplier. LSU should do that.
An apology will go a long way to allow a ceremony about 20 years from now when he isn't getting any more recognition.

re: What's the most successful company founded by someone who went to LSU?
Posted by tiger94gop on 8/13/26 at 10:14 am to MintBerry Crunch
No, Turner has over 20,000 employees and is one of the largest maintenance contractors in the Country. You would be closer to compare them to larger companies. Cajun has a niche and they do it well, but they are more mid-level and their civil division is larger than their mechanical.

How does that even work? She kept the Charleston and added the Thomas to her name and is divorced from both? I know plenty of people who were married twice and none kept making their names longer.

re: Is College Football better now than it was 10 years ago?
Posted by tiger94gop on 8/3/26 at 8:22 am to JinFL
Overall, it is a more professional product, but it is nothing like what made college football great. More money is being spent on players and coaches than ever before. They have better facilities and tools than some professional teams. However, they have devalued what college football and college sports is about.
The education value means nothing. The former rivalries mean nothing. The games are a place to be seen, not to cheer on your school. It is one and done college basketball on the football field. It makes 90% of the games irrelevant. The playoffs degrade the regular season. Almost all the bowls are irrelevant. The overall cost has become prohibitive to the average fan. It also seems where the schools are continuing to ask for more from their alumni to support a product on the field that is fast becoming separated from the school itself.

The old station at the 55 ramp in LaPlace they had half of it torn down and it smelled so bad when I opened the door my eyes were watering. I held it in till Hammond and stopped at a Motel. As someone before me said you can't beat that and always clean.

I am currently getting it from Limitless Biotech (from this board) to get it, but it seems really pricey for the amount of product.
I used the Supp Co app that gives recommendations and it listed PEPTIDECENTRAL.NET, has anyone purchased from them? They do list 3rd party testing, but they have limited information in Trustpilot. Just trying to make a decision on purchasing or not.
If anyone has another source. It would be appreciated.

For some reason, they used to run the show in syndication after 12:00 am around here. I know I watched it, but don't remember much. It may have been the only slot available. I don't think it was the content.
I just remember that "Soap" was infinitely better.

I have been the unfortunate to have to jump out of the way of the JBE motorcade more than once.
It just always irritated me when he would go flying by all the traffic and cause such a mess, when he could have stayed at the Mansion and save the taxpayers a ton of money not having 4 SUVs and 4 motorcycles working to protect his sorry carcass.

re: Dog vs UPS Driver vs dog owner... who you got?
Posted by tiger94gop on 7/2/26 at 7:25 am to CleverUserName
I am sure UPS has some of the same systems as Amazon.
I was changing my oil, and an Amazon delivery driver blew her horn. I went to get my package, and she said; "this says you have a dog". She was looking at her tablet. So, she asked if I could take the package.
Our Boston died a year ago, but someone along the way noted that our 18lb Boston was somewhere lurking inside.

Watch Orphan Black and you will see why a very "Mid" actress is getting work.

Tatiana Maslany has needed another vehicle to show her chops as she did in Orphan Black. I know Shehulk wasn't it and I am not sure about this. She may never get out of the Orphan Black shadow, but there is no denying her talent. This may just not be the vehicle for it.
