It doesn't take a genius to see how this will end up. Transgenders will lobby to compete in their respective chosen genders, they will get that ability, the NCAA and major sports will get sued, they will say frick it and go to a whomever is good enough model, women will complain about being excluded, and they will split them back up again.

frick that. I understand that people can develop physically as one sex and mentally as the other sex. Their hormones develop opposite of their physical state... I get that and that has to be tough to live that way..

With that said, if you have a dick and you develop like a dude then you compete with other dudes.. I think this is bullshite.

I would think you could always defer to genetic testing. If you have a "Y" chromosome, you compete with males. No "Y", you compete with females.

You have some people who believe men are stronger and faster so I can understand if an athlete is born male but identifying as a female and compete as one, some females will feel a particular way about it," Clinton Baker said.

The cream rises to the top," Baker added. "Athletes now will tell you if you put UConn women on the court with men, UConn men might lose. It's all in the spirit of competition, hard work and heart."

This frickin guy
Who on this planet thinks UCONN men might lose to the women? Would this dude ever bet his own money on any such outcome?

To be honest, I think it’s great they get a chance to compete and as long as they’re happy, I guess, there’s not that much I can do,” said Bridget Lalonde, a student at RHAM High School who finished third. “The rules are the rules. The only competition is the clock. You can only run as fast as you can,”

This young generation is so cucked they can’t even think straight. This chick finished third Bc two dudes were naturally faster but justifies it by saying her only competition is the clock. No, idiot, your competition was the two boys who beat you. You should be the state champ.

Alternative curveball- we go full unisex but see sports redefined over the next few decades to shift away from the wreck your body (and brain) athleticism of something like football towards things that require more strategy, precision, etc... than testosterone

I’m not saying eliminating all athleticism but could we even see some next gen weird sports like drone racing start filling the “entertainment games” market in a perfect storm of CTE, transgender competitors, kids raised on tech, and so on?

Just eliminate all gender specific competitions and team's. We're all equal.

I would love to hear from the deranged intellectuals who think being a biological boy in a girl's track meet isn't an advantage

It's the same people who say shite like this...

“The cream rises to the top,” Baker added. “Athletes now will tell you if you put UConn women on the court with men, UConn men might lose.

These people are absolutely and utterly clueless. I'm sorry to shatter their girl-power dreams, but the men's UConn basketball team would feel bad and stop playing once they were up 54-2 against the women's team.

To anyone who actually thinks that females can hang with males at the highest levels of athletic competition, please - seriously please - tell me why Serena Williams has NEVER played an exhibition match against a professional male. Would be a HUGE draw and all the proceeds could go to charity.

Why not? Because she KNOWS she would get her arse absolutely handed to her. It wouldn't even be interesting after five minutes.

I'm all for female equality and yada yada, but I swear feminism has deluded so many people into thinking that males and females are roughly equal athletically. They're not. I'm sorry.

ETA: Never mind, I stand corrected about the Serena Williams thing ...

quote:

Another event dubbed a "Battle of the Sexes" took place during the 1998 Australian Open[52] between Karsten Braasch and the Williams sisters. Venus and Serena Williams had claimed that they could beat any male player ranked outside the world's top 200, so Braasch, then ranked 203rd, challenged them both. Braasch was described by one journalist as "a man whose training regime centered around a pack of cigarettes and more than a couple bottles of ice cold lager".[53][52] The matches took place on court number 12 in Melbourne Park,[54] after Braasch had finished a round of golf and two shandies. He first took on Serena and after leading 5–0, beat her 6–1. Venus then walked on court and again Braasch was victorious, this time winning 6–2.[55] Braasch said afterwards, "500 and above, no chance".
