NWS Norman
@NWSNorman

Event total snowfall amounts at our climate locations:

OKC: 8.2 inches
Lawton: 4.0 inches

Reports all range depending where you live. OKC is taken at airport (SW side of metro) and it can be so different 20-30 miles away yet still in OKC due to how big area is land wise

Amazing the difference 20 miles can make. Tupelo has had some trees come down and a few temporary power outages but nothing major (yet)

Inverness is an absolute mess. Every tree in town is ruined. I have no idea how I still have power

Brother Delta will never learn, it is kinda just what he does.

That looks bad, though.

I’m wondering how long it’ll be before North Texas roads are good. It’s not supposed to get above freezing till around 11 AM on Tuesday. And it’s only gonna get up till like 40 on Tuesday.

Right now there’s like a solid 2 inches of sleet on the road.

Tombigbee Elec which covers parts of Tupelo & all of Lee County has 40% of their customers out. May take a week or more to get them all back on.

At my location in Cenla most of the rain fell when it was still above freezing and then it switched over to sleet pretty quick. The power has stayed on so far and the roads are clear. The official temp is 30 but I hear water dripping outside. Just about 20 miles to the north they had major ice and lots of power outages.

The wind will pick up as this clears on out, so there still may be some power outages to come.

We have a little sunshine filtering through the breaks in the rain now. Doesn't look like too much longer before we're through the bulk of the rain. (North AL)

Meanwhile, there's a nasty severe warned line down in SE AL.

It stopped snowing here in NW Arkansas about a hour ago. I guestimate between 10 and 12 inches are on the ground. The temperature is 12 degrees and it is to get into the minuses tonight.

I need to move South.

We have snow now, the sleet is over. Forecast shows snow for the next 3 hours, maybe 3-5 inches more. So, we have 5 inches of snow, a layer of sleet, theb maybe 3-5 more of snow. Gonna take me days to shovel out.

I did buy a propane flame thrower that's still in the box. Might break it out and see how it works.
