He’s got that “deer in headlights” look… staring down the receiver

Pretty obvious he expected the TE to stop and comeback for the ball. Not to run an out route.

His receivers aren’t doing him any favors but yes he’s not that good.

This is why starters still need to play in the preseason

He looks bad, but he’s still really young (experience wise, not age) for a starting QB. Season opener, on the road, with that crowd and that defensive pressure, this start was kind of expected. Hopefully he settles down in time while our defense is keeping us in this game.

You mean the guy who had one above average season at Louisville might not be a world beater? He still could be great but I fear we may have overhyped him

Shough and the offense playing this as a first preseason game... shows the value, or lack thereof, of playing the 3 preseason games.

Are we really having this conversation less than a half of football into the season?

Not going to justify it, he’s not playing well, but let’s pump the brakes here a little bit.

Goff has thrown over 5500 balls in the NFL

Shough has thrown barely over 300. They shouldn’t be treated the same.

Shough should have seen a lot of snaps in the preseason

Yeah, let's just throw out what we saw last year.

Come on man. It's his first game after getting zero snaps in the pre-season.

He has only played 9 games as a 2nd yr qb. He us obviously having a bad game.

This board turning on Shough opening half of the season in Detroit is laughable. I guarantee y’all’s husbands aren’t falling apart at the first sign of adversity

There were idiots all over this message board talking about how excited they were for the season based on a guy that played 3/4 of a decent college season at Louisville against Louisville’s schedule. Make that make sense. The Saints managed to get some wins at the end of the year against some shitty teams that did not care about winning. They cared about draft position. But the Saints and even more so they’re dumb arse fans just wanted to win games when it is obvious to anybody with any football knowledge that they are 3 to 5 years away from being average.

Yea he looks absolutely overwhelmed right now. He played well last year once the season was over, but there was a lot of faith in what he did in essentially garbage time

Terrible first half but can’t give up on him. Running game equally bad.
