Saints are shitty, what is Loomis doing sitting on his hands?

Simmons is one of the best DT in the NFL? Do we have one of the best ____ anything to trade? Who do you want to trade that makes us better by getting rid of them?

Please show your work.

our fan base scoffed at the idea of maybe trading Chase Young for a haul. Can't have it both ways.

I’d rather keep Chase Young if we are stuck with Loomis and Ireland.

And he's still fairly young. I'm not against this idea but we pretty much have less then 5 good players.

With the way Loomis structures the contracts with the dead years on the back and the signing bonuses, trading our guys would mean a lot of dead cap money.

With the decades of "Loomis-ing", we are pretty much stuck riding out most contracts with anybody that would be worth trading. The draft capital that we receive wouldn't be worth the dead cap space.

who you going to trade for firsts who isn't a building block for the future, exactly? Chase? Kelvin Banks? Olave? no

that said the Bears are going to be a problem in a few weeks for our offense now

Is the Saints roster that bad that no one has trade value, other than the few guys you mentioned?

I'm not suggesting we could get first rounders, but would any of these guys have trade value:

McCoy
Granderson
Johnson

This has been the case for awhile. He’s made 7 deals in 25 years

Perhaps the refreshed approach will give us more roster flexibility going forward

Granderson would be my top target to get rid of being he'll want a new contract this offseason

I don't think you move McCoy or johnson

McCoy: Oline is already struggling to keep Shough alive, last thing you want to do is to trade your anchor.
Granderson: This is an interesting one, because he is one of the few bright spots on the D-line. But he will also be due a new contract in 2 years, same year Chase's contract comes up. Would be worthwhile exploring
Johnson: You need to keep developing Shough, they should not consider moving one of his favorites targets.

It also gives you draft picks that you desperately need to rebuild the defense.

Lot of these guys and day 3 value…. Complain about the pass rush then trade Grando and watch Cam Jordan get starter snaps.
