Would have to be one hell of a QB to pass on Will!

Top 5 pick? Then this, obviously. If you're already in the top 5 you can probably move up to 1 or 2 if needed. Unless the QB crop is Kenny Pickett bad, you take the swing at QB. Who cares if the LT is great if you don't have a QB and just improve your team enough to be picking 12-19 the next season?

You know Loomis won’t draft a QB for the next 3-4 years praying that Rattler is his savior. He’ll stock up on lineman, totally miss on a few, and get us back to middle of the draft before realizing a QB is necessary.

Campbell seems to be a 15 yr NFL player. Saints need a QB..

Ironically, picking a QB no matter what is what got the Bengals in position to finally draft a competent QB after Palmer. There are a number of other teams that went QB no matter what and had been chasing that starter for years while also neglecting the rest of the team.

You still have to do your analysis, and if any of the QBs look to be the guy, you go up and get him. If not, you need to build the team around the next QB and hope you’re in position to get him next year. But pissing away 1st for a QB for the sake of drafting a QB is a franchise killer

Even the worst QB in the draft is better with an elite OL e.g. Purdy

But the best QB can't function without an OL

Answer: Saints need to focus everything on OL development.

Would like to see Rattler start a few games first. If he is above average, go Campbell. If we start running a SF style offense we won’t need an elite QB especially with improved OL play.

This is not the QB class where this statement applies.

Maybe, maybe not. A lot can change by season’s end. Burrow and Daniels kind of came out of nowhere.

Its 2007. You have the first pick in the draft... who you taking?

1) Oakland Raiders - JaMarcus Russell (QB)
2) Detroit Lions - Calvin Johnson (WR)
3) Cleveland Browns - Joe Thomas (OT)

The saints are only going to go as far as the NFL allows them, what don't you people get about this now you still think it's controlled by players in a fair competitive manner with fair reffing without scripts etc. It's an entertainment league I don't get mad at the saints losing anymore I just watch it for fun once you finally accept the fact that it's rigged it's more entertaining honestly. Don't put so much stock and so much emotion into something like an entertainment league the NFL is. Play fantasy football it's fun

Knowing what we know now, I’m taking Joe Thomas. That dude was a stud for years. Having that peace of mind at LT is a blessing.

But I honestly would have been just as satisfied with Calvin so

Hindsight bias says Calvin, but in real time it was JR easily

Best QB in CFB that year + top 0.00001% physical tools

I love Will but this Fuaga kid is going to be so good I don’t see how you can move him. Will is a LT and wants to be that guy. So I don’t know what I would do with the pick.

We already have a franchise QB in Rattler, so taking a LT or a once in a generation type WR.

Payton will trade up ahead of the Saints and take Campbell for Denver.

To further complicate things you should also consider AP who went 7th, Willis @ 11th (although, I don't recall him getting top 5 hype), and Revis @ 14.

Crazy to think there will be 5 HoFers from this class in the top 14, yet Russell was the #1 pick.

By middle of october, everyone will realize that Shedeur Sanders is sure fire franchise QB.

You can kick Fuaga to the right side or even guard.

OL will still be a huge need but if you are high enough you have to look at a QB replacement

Plus DE will be a high priority with Young on a one year deal and Cam nearing the end
