His grip on the rail leads me to believe he’ll need 2 weeks before re evaluation

Did BI just duck playing and having to see/talk to Steve Kerr after this past summer?

If he plays tonight it’s a valid question, especially since he didn’t even sit on the bench with the team

BI has not really been a constant injury problem. I don’t count the concussion. That shite just happens.

I mean, he kinda has been. He doesn't miss the huge amount of games that Zion does with big injuries, but he also gets injuries a lot that make him miss much more time than you would typically expect

He's missed 64 games over the past 2 seasons.

He's averaged 55 games played over the past 6 seasons.

That might be better than Zion, but it's not good lol.

YOu're joking right?

It's not even that he misses a decent amount of games, it's that he takes longer to get back on the court than 99% of players with the same injury.

It was pretty well know last year that he was ready to play but kept sitting because he felt he wasn't mentally ready. My mom struggled with really bad depression and anxieties because she had a terrible childhood, my 18 year old nephew has it really hard because he's bipolar, I understand the struggles with mental health and can sympathize with anyone going through it more than most. But my mom also got up and went to work every day even at the worst of times for her and hell my nephew gets up and goes to school every day even when he's having a high or low. So I have a hard time giving someone a pass for not going out and playing a game that you're getting paid hundreds of millions of dollars to do, just because you don't think you're mentally ready. Again, hundreds of millions of dollars.

To be fair, some of that is skewed because we had 2 72 game seasons.

He does miss way more time that seems normal for fairly non-consequential injuries though.

It's mostly negligible. That's the difference between playing 67% of games if they were all 82 and 70% of games with the two 72 game seasons. That 3% different accounts for 2.5% of games, so if you adjust for it, it goes from an average of 55 games played per year to 57.5, which I don't think changes the stance much, if at all.

That was just doctors and BI being ridiculously over cautious over something that was next to nothing.

There's been 122 concussions since 2011. LINK
That's an average of 9 a year, or we can say a concussion happens every 137 games played, so it's not something that is common. I'd bet the majority of them are happening b/c of a players head hitting the floor, not running into a teammate casually.

The average time out is 7 days, probably 6 since the data is skewed by BI's time out in the link as they have him missing 93 days, which is not correct. The vast majority are sitting out 2-4 days. I would think the ones you see that are 10+ days are guys that had actual injuries to their face, like guys breaking their orbital socket or nose.
BI sat out 13 days from his "concussion".

This may be a topic for another day but this is a VERY critical year for him in my opinion. The constant missing of games, longer than usual recovery times and no consistent success with the pels. BI has been in the league 7 years- has constant injuries, one first round playoff exit, one all star appearance and 0 All-NBA teams. I wouldn’t just hand over a long term extension to this guy if this trend continues this season and his play doesn’t significantly jump. I think there should be a set number for his extension and if he declines, we shop him. If Griffin overpays for him, it could set us back.

And BI's should not be counted as one of them. He got brushed in the face by Naji. There was no way in hell that was a concussion. Definitely not one that should have put him out the length he was out.

I like BI, he's actually one of my all time favorite Pelicans as far as loving to watch them play goes. I love his game. But he is soft, that cannot be denied.

Do you think he faked shite and failed the test on purpose, or do you think the team knew he passed the test and lied and reported it as a concussion?

It was a concussion most likely. Naji is a careless fool and I think looked like he basically inadvertently punched him. I do agree he shouldn’t havd been out that long but then again not sure what Nelson’s concussion recovery mandates were at the time.

At the time I didn't think it was a concussion and now going back and rewatching it in slow motion ( LINK) I still don't think it was a concussion. What that means as far as the team lying, I don't know.
