There’s so much of this in this thread that it’s comical to me. We were always going to have to build through the draft and trades mainly. If you can add Tobias Harris into cap space, even at a max deal, you take that all day every day.
back to my point from the horford thread...when zion is on a rookie contract what difference does it make who the highest paid player is?
all of this is dreamworld speculation but i cant believe anyone really has a problem with harris (or horford) because of salary

If Tobias is a major part of Our front offices vision for the future I’m all for it. Seems like a really good dude and locker room guy.

The obvious distinction between Horford and Harris is their age. At 33 and 26 respectively, Horford is a guy that can help you win for a couple years before fading into obscurity. A 26 year old Harris could be a main piece around Zion for the better part of a decade if it worked.
ETA: I think Horford would easily be more beneficial in the short term to Zion AND Hayes. I think he’d probably even have a larger affect on our win % next year than Harris. But I’m taking the potential longevity and opportunity to create a long term partnership if given the choice, and that’s Harris.

Looked up Favors’ contract.
It is fully unguaranteed right now. It becomes guaranteed on 7/6 if they don’t decline the option.
Declining his option drops about $17m in salary but doesn’t necessarily create a ton of cap space.

Brandon Ingram isn't coming off the bench. That's Fake News, it'll never happen. I don't care who you bring in "Brandon Ingram Is Not Coming Off No Bench." Just a friendly acknowledgement.
Tobias should love playing in New Orleans and the Pelicans would be wise to pitch him on bringing his talents dowm to the Bayou.
Primarily he's been a PF/SF. So could he possobly slide to C lined up next to- Ball, Holiday, Ingram, and Williamson?
Could you throw Zion at C and play the same five guys?
Would you bring Zion off the bench and choose to primarily play both at PF?
Could you essentially just throw Lonzo, Jrue, Brandon, ZION, Tobias on the court and tell them just go play basketball? Everybody just pick a man, and then just run his a$$ into the ground! #BirdStrikes
I don't have the answers to any of those questions but what I can tell you is.....

I tend to agree. We need to see what we have with him and how he fits next to Zion.

Sucks that's your account didn't get approved until after the trade deadline Brandon.

Yeah, those five would be the starting lineup. I would think that we're likely going to give both Okafor and Hayes some minutes at the 5 each game, so Zion would still mostly end up playing the 4, with Harris playing the 3 when Ingram is on the bench.

I normally read and jump around the internet. I don't generally feel the need to debate. I'm the same way on SaintsReport. But I do admire your interest in my profile, douchebag. Okay I'm just joking you're not a douche.

Tobias is worth a 4 year max (or near max), the contract would run through his 30-year-old season. If Zion is primarily going to play at C,Tobias would be a good signing. He's a quasi All-Star stretch 4, I would be happy if the Pels signed him.

Dunno why we would want this. He can absolutely play some center. But look around the league at guys like Embiid, Gobert, AD, etc. We want Zion guarding these cats?

I agree with the correct English version of your statement. Really makes you sound like an idiot.
Lonzo is a different story and could be the one coming off the bench.

Are you familiar with satire? Okay, got it? Good, moving forward. But I must say, you sir, you are a douche. Send ya mammy to grammar school. I don't need you offering me any form of advice. Got it? Goood.

Lonzo isn’t coming off the bench neither.

Holy shite, please go back to SaintsReport.

I just want our options to be more open in Zion's prime. Plus this is a fairly weak FA class. Why waste our long term cap space this year?
