What’s Tupac character in Above The Rim for $200 Alex.
Shy of 14 mil for Timelord is a good value, but I think it would be hard to find a trade of equal value to bring him to New Orleans.

Trigga Trey $25, Poole Party $32, DJM $31, Z $40 is where your bread is buttered.

Herb is the only value contract and DJM contract feels inflated in this moment which is probably why their name keeps being mentioned in trades by podcasters.

Pick a side or you’re creating a false narrative.

Unless you’re saying JD and the Pelicans were a match made in heaven to do dumb shiit?

If that’s your stance, cool, but stand on that shite.
Okay, I reached with “having a deal in place”
but it was easy to see that the plan was never to draft at 23.

(Maybe) They could have gotten better value for the pick with how things played out with the Pacers.

From the Pelicans perspective, there was a clear goal in mind. Stockpile talent this year.

I’m good with the move. I like the competitive tension JD is bringing to the building.
I can see Looney being the play with his ties to the head coach. But “dream fit” would be Lopez, if we’re looking at Free Agents.
My guess is the Pelicans already have a deal in place. I don’t think you make that trade, at that time, with the thought of selecting a player at 23.

If the Pelicans draft at 23 then I will view the trade as a fail.
I believe Khman Maluach will be the pick at 7. I expect New Orleans to DO IT BIG again this season.

Pelicans need a counter to Wemby. A mobile 7 footer is more than a luxury in the Southwest Division

I wanted Ace, his potential outweighs any fit concerns in my opinion. I think Philly will select Edgecomb, so I’m hoping for a trade with the Hornets.

With the 23rd pick, I’m just looking to add depth hopefully to the front-court.

** I really like Tre from Texas and Fears from Oklahoma

** I want no parts of Kon from Duke or VJ Edgecomb
As long as we finish in the Bottom 4 and secure a Top 3 pick, I’m cool with a couple wins now and again.

Moving Brandon Ingram(3) for a 14% shot at a Top Draft Pick is a solid sacrifice to the Basketball Gods!

Do you realize we are going to be a 20 win team this year. We are going to spend close to 180M. The Pistons are currently under 130M and they have double the wins.

Let’s not act like the Pelicans didn’t trot out the Squadron for the first month and half of the season.

The Pelicans were built to win this year.

Injuries fricked that plan all up.

I believe the Pelicans make a few minor adjustments but stay the course.

The Pelicans may be forced to blow it all up as early as 2026 Offseason.
-No tweaks, full rebuild.

The Pelicans will duck the tax this year.

The Pelicans shoot their shot and possibly are buyers next year at the trade deadline.

When it comes to Ingram I don’t see a team offering the Pelicans what they would want in a trade.

BI best shot to play on a winning team and get paid is with the Pelicans

Does Ingram feel he should be the highest paid player on the Pelicans?
.
Is Zion Williamson a better player than Ingram?

Another piece of the cap puzzle going forward is CJ McCollum.

Will CJ McCollum take a sizable payout on his next extension to give the Pelicans flexibility knowing he’ll most likely slide into a 6th man role to end his career with the Pelicans?

Games get tougher in a week or two.

Pels are 6-4 in the month of January with 7 games remaining. February can affectionately be considered the Play-IN Gauntlet.

Pels can’t drop consecutive games and need to go on multiple mini win streaks. Feels like the Pelicans are allergic to winning 5 in a row.

The Play-In was designed for teams that get off to slow starts and catch fire later in the season and it’s time for the Play-In- Pels to strike again.

To do the impossible you have to take steps you never taken. Sure, I know how it will end (“with the 11th pick in the 2025 Draft The New…) but frick ima enjoy the ride mf’er!

This team is DANGEROUS and was built to run through this league.

Murray-CJ-Herb-Ingram-Zion would be my guess.

It’s the best position less lineup we have until Trey returns and then CJ transitions into a role coming off the bench.

The Pelicans choose not to view Williamson as the team’s Center but the opposing teams will treat him as such.

As much as this philosophy change unleashes Zion on offense it will also unlock another level for FTADNO Herb Jones

I think this is the most versatile roster we’ve had in the Zion Era, the next chapter begins Wednesday night.

Bold Predictions
*Zion Averages 12 rebounds
*Murray Assists Leader
*Pelicans Top 3 in West
*Ingram Finals MVP
*Pelicans NBA Champions

The opposing team’s Center will still try to guard Zion and get smoked.

Go back and watch the April 7th, match up vs the Suns

After pulling Val 4 minutes into the game the Pelicans deployed 5 and Out Basketball

Then:
CJ-Herb-Trey-Zion-Daniels
Nance-Alvarado

Now:
DJM-Herb-TMIII-Ingram-Zion
CJ-Theis

Zion wasn’t kidding when he alluded to this team having more options this season.
BI hands behind his back is a clear signal that he feels trapped in a bad situation and hates Dejounte

Right? It’s kind of obvious you guys
What’s his contract?

ANd CJ literally just talked about how much GSW disrespected Klay not starting him.

Context being… GSW started a rookie over him. A frickING ROOKIE OVER KLAY MF’N THOMPSON!

I think it’s a completely different situation in New Orleans. By all means I think the plan is to start CJ next to DJM but him coming off the bench would be a strategic play to keep him fresh for the postseason. Regardless if he starts or not his minutes has to come down this season.

What lineups are playing the majority of the minutes together is way more important than who is penciled in as the starter.
I doubt BI wants to play for Steve Kerr or with Draymond Green. Not a logical destination in my mind at all.

That has a very low history of working out well.

Sounds like you’re basing your opinion off the old rules.

Personally, I’m anxious to see what terms BI is going to accept(with the Pelicans or another team). I think he remains a valued member of the franchise and will be paid accordingly but at the end of it all we know this is Zion’s team moving forward… which has been a grey area in past seasons

ETA: I heard ppl throw out numbers like 5/190. I don’t know if that gets it done but $38 mil annually seems attainable for both parties
Teams and their “capologist” have had time to read through the new CBA, and it’s clear just giving a player the highest amount that’s technically eligible to them is the old way of doing business and players and their agents will have to adjust.
Klay supposedly believes his best playing days are still in front of him. There’s bad blood brewing between him and the Warriors organization.

I can see him maybe going to the Lakers for the mid-level but I think Jonas might be the play for them and I think Dallas would be a better fit for Klay.
