I don't know where Griff gets the reputation that he "wins trades"

The AD trade was literally the only offer and then he took the Lakers pick at 4 and traded it back, which was a mistake.

The Jrue trade amounted to a bunch of glorified 2nd round picks and Eric Bledsoe. He at least rectified that a little bit with Jonas trade.

The CJ trade was good.

The Murray trade is looking real bad right now.

Are you high? He lost nearly every trade for this team.

The Lakers/AD trade has yielded what exactly?

Both players from the #4 pick wasted. Lonzo went for nothing. BI is an albatross that they will get nothing for.

Awful Bledsoe/Adams trades that then had to pay to get off of both of them.

Hart and NAW got you McCollum and Nance, but not a single playoff series win and only one playoff appearance.

Graham was a waste and cost them more than they got for Lonzo.

Paid to trade him away too.

Lewis wasted and traded for TPE.

There is horrible trade after horrible trade, and then he had to pay his way out of his bad trades for some mediocre ones.

I’m in the minority where if the right deal comes around I’d trade him. im not gonna melt if we trade a role player for 3 firsts

A lot depends on what direction this goes. If we trade Zion/BI for future assets, you're probably looking at a rebuild and you can let go of more players.

Are any of the top players in the 2025 draft guys with gravity that you can just plug in with a bunch of role players and be good instantly? Or do they need to get a star player back in a trade to justify keeping the role players around?

Yes this is me open to the idea of this IF we trade both BI and Zion (hopefully)

I just think to we aren’t doing anything for the foreseeable future. Herbs value probably isn’t getting any higher than what it is right now. You want to trade him now before he potentially becomes another Dorian Finney Smith or a Thybulle. Defensive specialist who were worth a couple firsts a few years ago who are now worth very little. His 3pt shooting is suspect and teams are gonna notice that as the bigger his role gets offensively with all these injuries.

Like I said it would have to be something close to 3 valuable 1st round picks.

Yes it is, and I liked that trade when it happened. But Missi, Herb, Murphy is a depressing as hell “core”

Trading away an all-NBA player in his prime on a good contract with no attitude issues would be a mistake. He's also a fan favorite.

Why wouldn't they trade trey murphy too?

Is he really worth 30 mil?

He's not untouchable to me. Too soft imo

If they trade Herb as a part of this blowup, I will flip my shite. Because it tells me that whatever they build next will be dumb too.

I think his "value" will hold up pretty well for another year or so.

Just seems too easy to kinda turn him loose for the rest of this year & see what developes with his offensive game. You never know...might have more in his bag that we know. THEN...he would definitely be worth keeping long term...and building around. If...he shows no improvement offensively by the end of this season...you can always "move" him next year and I'd guess still get a very solid value for him.

BTW...not shooting 3s quite a badly as it seems. After tonight someone would be right to say he is shooting 27.77% "from the 3-pt line"...but...someone would be MORE right...to say he's shooting 34.88% "from the 3-pt line"...anamolies...can be funny things...when you recognize them.

I'm actually a bit more worried about Trey's future value than Herb's...but that's just my opinion...I could be wrong.

Lol. Not even close. Like giving up a first for Steven Adams, or the 12 pick for Devontae Graham? Then ten 2nds to shed him? Or Ball for a stick of gum? That kinda winning?

I’ve been his harshest critic on here. No gm has done less with more than him z He started with a freaking buffet of assets and burned through all of them with almost nothing to show for it. Other than the three picks he hit on that were ours to begin with.

I said give it a few years and we’d regret the trade. Wait till DD hits his full potential.

Probably not gonna work out well but...I keep reminding myself that ...at the time of the trade...we had VERY high hopes for this season. Things kinda all went down the tubes...and so now...the trade looks pretty bad.

I luv DD...but I've been watching just about all his games lately up here...he's not playing as well as most think...just shooting quite a bit more. The guy is just terribly "stiff" (whatever that means)...and his shot hasn't gotten a bit better. I'd still like to have him with the Pels...he's got potential.

I kinda think that the most likely outcome is trading BI and CJ and then trying to reset quickly to become competitive.

I would trade CJ and BI and see what a new coach can do with the others before trading them away too.

CJ and BI with draft picks and expiring's gets you into the rebuild you should have done last year.

Gotta figure out how to proceed past dumping those two.

Only long term guaranteed salary we really have on the books for now are Murray, Herb, and Trey, as Zion’s deal isn’t guaranteed and most other deals are short or small money.

TBH, I’m thinking a large rebuild is probably going to be necessary short of Zion getting his shite together, as Zion’s money isn’t guaranteed but he is taking up $40m+ in cap space annually to wear street clothes.

I say Herb, Trey, and Missi are the new core but we just need to add an alpha to them. I like Murray as a vet PG as well as Jose (Back up PG with intensity) and Hawkins (another shooter) off the bench. Everyone else can go.
