As if discussing DeAndre Jordan in 2026 wasn't comical enough.

It’s explained in the OP and throughout the thread why his contract is different than 2 minimum deals.

It’s about 3 million more against our cap for this timeframe than if we had done it the correct way.

Drops in the bucket? Probably. Hopefully.

Emblematic of continued dysfunction and/or incompetence? Also yes.

I bought a box of that flavored sparking water at the store last week and when i got home i realized there was a coupon attached where I could have gotten 50 cents back off the purchase.

My income relative to Gayle's makes this situation identical.

Queen trade was bad in that we didn't have a first and could have had a top 8 pick this year...nothing do with Queen himself - bad process

Poole trade bad because CJ was a $30m expiring...could have probably gotten Bey in a separate deal...Poole was awful and added another $30m to the books - again bad process

Hawkins - who wants him? So, yes, didn't need to do that and because of that AND Poole deals it's prevented us making moves this year

Should have fired Willie Green in the offseason if there was no supposed mandate - not saying it should have been Borrego but wasted an offseason with a lame duck coach - may be over his head, may not be but happened in his tenure and unfortunately it falls on him

Jose trade is bad in that we could have gotten better deals but this may be the only arguable one I think

In a vacuum some of these deals aren't "bad" sure but bad process leads to bad outcomes and limiting ways out and that's what I see here.

that's not the point. This is the second embarrassingly stupid thing Dumars has done. It's becoming increasingly obvious he should not be a GM in the NBA, but i guess who gives a shite b/c our owner shouldn't be an owner either.

Good organizations squeeze out every advantage they can. For an organization that will trade assets for cash, giving away $3-4 million is a pretty big deal.

Its probably like 15 minutes of profit from Gayle's 1500% concession stand markup.

We aren’t concerned with Gayle’s money, though

That is not the issue

shite like this happens and we legitimately have certain posters upset that some of us are pessimists about this team

That's bullshite. Outside of the Jordan signing, none of those examples should be considered minor. Taking on the Hawkins option literally handicapped the team this offseason.

If you want to get mad at something, the Hawkins option should be #1 right now.

Major and minor are relative

Major would be trading multiple picks for Giannis

Regardless his point stands. All of these things they do add up to a clear picture of disregard for attention to detail and the norms of well run franchises

It can still be significant without being major. Either way, his examples were a lot more significant compared to the Jordan signing.

It’s not about her personal money. The Pels are not going over a certain dollar salary wise. Every million wasted, is a possible roster transaction that won’t happen.
