Even Benson Supporter Fletcher Mackel (She only does interviews with him) is retweeting this.

Are people really posting "I would like to think there has to be a move in which this front office makes" less than a month into a 4 month offseason like its a day before the season starts. Giving me a headache.

We all know the offseason is technically four (4) months but we all know most business is done by mid-July. It's not too often you see a rush of signings in August and September. I get what you're saying but I think the fact that most teams have already gotten their rosters ready to go for the most part and we haven't added a new player at all.

Again, I'd argue that if we don't have Hawkins and Poole we are looking at a very different offseason. Dumars really overestimated how much value he has in Poole and Hawkins. I do commend him for not just accepting something for Trey or Herb but even then he's refusing to look at the reality of where we are.

He’s sees the reality of us having nice pieces to go into next season. See what we have with new coaching. If it goes bad you got 2 shots in the lottery (if the Bucks are bad). Additionally Dejounte could boost his value, Trey will still have value, and Herb will still have value. Then you go into the rebuild. Which is what everyone wants. Team is just not going wave the white flag with a new head coach.

I'd argue the Bucks are better than last season and are certainly better than us currently.

Ah yes losing an MVP makes you better.

But there's logical reasons for this. Brown/ Mitchell are the only 2 rumored targets that were moved. So just about anyone we were interested in has not been traded... Its not like every single player involved in Pels rumors are gone, traded, taken, etccc.

We have 1 roster spot at the moment and no money. Do people think we can just sign anyone without money or roster spots?

Is there an actual reason why people don't think we make a move beside being impatient and pessimistic? That's rhetorical, the answer is no.

Yes other teams are making trades. Other teams might also have to clear space or rearrange assets BEFORE we make trades with them.

I'm sure these perfectly logical explanations will be seen as "extreme unrealistic optimism" while people blindly deny it for absolutely no legit reason whatsoever.

No, of course not, which goes back to the crux of the argument. Small moves in a vacuum may seem innocuous but if you compound them they have downrange effects. So, again, we are a in better position to improve the roster this offseason if don't make the Poole trade or exercise options with Hawkins.

And I love Bey on this team but not at the cost of an additional $30m albatross contract that no one wants even if he's an expiring.

This could not be further from correct...

The value of Poole/ Hawk is currently $50mil in assets.

The value of no Poole/ Hawk is $0.

Poole/ Hawk allow us to take back $50mil that would otherwise be $0.

If we don't make the Poole trade or pick up Hawk then we are actually in the worst possible scenario. We'd have $0 spending money and no Bey.

Would you rather have $50mil and Sadiq Bey or absolutely nothing?

Griffin gave away Gayle's money for years with his head coaches. He lasted 7 years paying head coaches to sit at home.

1 head coach that was on a 3 year contract, so he was only paid for 2 additional years…

And let’s be fair, it was the right hire and in hindsight instead of choosing Ingram and Hart over SVG, he should have kept SVG and traded Ingram and Hart then.

SVG was a 4 year contract. They paid the rest of Gentry's contract while hiring SVG. And did the same thing when they fired SVG after a season and hired Green. All in a span of 2 seasons. That's a lot money.

And he finally got fired trying to do it again with Green during the 24/25 season.

Not Griffins hire, like Willie was forced on Joe Gentry was forced on him.

And yes you’re correct, 4 years not 3, point still stands, right hire, wrong time.

And Green wasn’t a hire that should have been made, but when you go from a hard nosed coach like SVG that the players didn’t like you have to go opposite and find a “good guy” coach, which is what they did.
