Used to love the gold pants until Nike turned them into an absolute abortion around 2012

Yeah man, that’s the point. Diminishing JD’s on-field accomplishments because he’s being a pussy about the number is stupid.

honorable mention: Derrius Guice

Guice has disgraced himself off the field far more than Jayden has

re: What is Daniels memorable game?

Games from 2023 where I remember thinking “holy shite Jayden is incredible”:

Ole Miss - 500+ total yards, 5 TDs

Missouri - 390 total yards, 4 TDs

Alabama - 380 total yards, 3 TDs through 3 quarters before getting speared

Florida - 600+ total yards, 5 TDs

A&M - 350 total yards, 4 TDs

Bama 2022 was obviously the most important big “moment”

Two things are true here:

1) Jayden is being a puss about the number

2) Trying to downplay his season by comparing him to the GOAT is absurd and sore loser behavior
You’re doing the Lord’s work putting this together Scotcho

This guy is a clown that says shite like that so he gets clicks and attention.

If he was going after clicks he wouldn’t bring up the Pelicans. We are run like a third rate organization which makes us an easy target.
Brother I’m feeling it too. It might be the old fashioneds I just consumed but the Tigers are gonna bring the pain this year. Tiger Stadium will be ROCKIN
Seems like a pretty good deal for both sides. You can’t let Shough go into year 2 with zero proven top receiving threats.

Eric Reid was in almost all of my business classes. Came to class every day, obviously studied because he made straight A’s, even in the difficult Accounting courses. Was very polite and friendly to everyone. I’ll never forget the Monday after that 2011 Bama game when he entered class and half the class gave him a standing ovation. His respond was very humble. It would have been the entire class but he was always early and the other half of the class hasn’t gotten there yet. There a famous picture of him running out of the tunnel in DV holding the American flag. I don’t know WTF happened to him in San Francisco after he entered the league.

Genuinely a very cool story

re: Freshman QB Cayden Jones

He’s shifty! Never seen a QB try to initiate so much contact on scrambles. The way he runs reminds me of Spencer Ware and Chris Ivory, but in QB form.
1. Leavitt’s health/rust

2. D-line’s ability to get pressure with 4. This was our biggest weakness on defense last year. If Baker doesn’t have to rely on the blitz so much the defense should be great.

3. O-line gelling - Only reason this is third and not higher is because if Leavitt is healthy then his mobility plus Kiffin’s creative offense will make life a little easier on the o-line.

I'd take 2024 Jaxson Dart. Particularly since Levitt's style of play is more similar to Dart than Nussmeier. Yes, Dart had some bad moments in critical spots (most notably a meltdown at the end of the Florida game). But he led the SEC in passing and was the league's highest rated QB. Give me that plus a better defense than Ole Miss's 2024 unit and LSU is without question a CFP team.

Agreed, that comp would be more than enough for us to be a very good team
quote:

If Leavitt plays like healthy nuss we will be in great shape. Yall gonna realize he was a good qb when he was healthy one day

Spending $6M+ on a player of *healthy* Nuss’ caliber would be horrendous roster management. Let’s hope he’s better than that. Even if it takes a few games for him to get his legs under him.
Been awesome to watch him be in contention in so many tournaments recently. Hope he’s turning a corner.
shite like this happens and we legitimately have certain posters upset that some of us are pessimists about this team
quote:

It almost did. Perkins ended the game before it could bite us.

Saying it changed the outcome of the game when we won anyway is dumb though.

And it didn’t change the outcome of the season either. The offense would have sucked regardless of whether that was a touchdown or not. Kelly had already mailed it in effort-wise. It would have made no difference in the big picture.

ETA: It was still a bullshite call and was probably the best play of the season for the offense

If the people complaining about why they give out #7 & #18 to players would just shut up and let the players/team enjoy it, there wouldn't be a need to talk about it.

This sentence makes absolutely no sense.
quote:

Yeah it completely changed the outcome of the game and the rest of the season

Did it?
quote:

You aren't wrong. I think we had a string of Jamar Chase, Derek Stingley, and Kayshon Boutte wearing #7. All great players obviously, but the years they were given #7, things went south that year for them. (as an LSU fan)

Thought you were mistaken about Chase but just checked the 2020 roster and he was listed as #7 before opting out. I did not remember that.

2021 - Stingley (injured/underperformed)
2022 - Boutte (injured/underperformed)
2023 - No #7 listed on roster
2024/2025 - Perkins (underperformed)

I agree with whoever said 7 needs to stop being an every year thing. Only a bonafide stud like PP7, Honey Badger, or Fournette should be wearing it.
