He can and will light it up. Gonna be a catch and shoot guy though

Speaking of guys who stroke, I like Chris Duarte. Think he may be a sleeper to rise up draft boards. Reminds me a bit of Tyrese Halliburton. Going to likely be the oldest guy drafted in round 1 but he could step in right away and contribute.

I love Duarte. If you want a guy that can contribute immediately he's one.

I don't dislike Kispert but grouping his name with Redick, Korver, Duncan Robinson, Joe Harris, etc is a little much. He's a great shooter, but he's not the complete shooter that those guys are.

If we moved back into the teens or early 20s, Duarte would definitely be one of my targets.

It would be nice if someone take Bledsoe in the process.

I like the idea of kispert, but reality is that it usually takes these type of guys a few years to find their footing in the league. Getting shots off in the NBA and defending is vastly different than college. Short wing span and avg athleticism

Kispert's release will lead to him getting shots blocked a lot early.

I don't like the Kispert pick for us. If he is the only choice, I would prefer us trading the pick for a player(s) of need.

if we move back i want that kid from UCLA (if he stays in the draft). he could develop into an ELITE shooter

That would be a big mistake. Take the guard from Baylor.

if you tell him you pick him in round one he stays.

don't worry how others see his place at 35.

Dude is old as shite and his measurements at the combine will hurt him big time. He is small and old.

He may turn out to be a great player, but that's the type of guy you take at 23, not 10.

For instance, NAW came out as a sophomore and has been in the league 2 years, and Mitchell is older than him.

In fact, if we did keep the pick...

I think Griffin is FAR more likely to take someone like Jalen Johnson than Davion Mitchell.

High upside, great size, Duke.

This place would melt like a motherfricker (for good reason IMO), but I still think it is the case.

I'm assuming Suggs is the one he jumped in their mock? And Kuminga.

I would not hate Wagner.
19 years old, 6'9", 220 lbs, good BB IQ, good shooting potential.

We have a big collection of players under 6'5", time to get somebody taller who also has some weight on him. If Moody is the guy, NAW or Didi or whatever sniper at SG I want the Pels to pick up is going to have to go.

That being said, pick getting traded.

Wouldn't hate wagner.

I've been on the duarte train.

You can trade back and still get him.

Would anyone here take a trade back witn the knicks?

They have 19 and 21.

Trade back and take bouknight and duarte. Love both players and they both solve a problem.

Nice catch. I'll update the OP. The original one I posted was by Sam Vecenie. This new one is a collective mock draft by their beat writers.

The beat writers version has it going like this:
Cade
Jalen Green
Evan Mobley
Barnes
Suggs
Kumninga
Wagner
Sengun
Davion Mitchell
Kispert (Pels)
Jalen Johnson
Kai Jones
Josh Giddey
Chris Duarte

Write up on Kispert:

quote:

10. New Orleans Pelicans
Corey Kispert | 6-7 wing | 22 years old, senior | Gonzaga
Kispert is the oldest player to come off the board so far (22 years old) and there’s a good chance he ends up being the only senior drafted in the top 20. The last time the Pelicans took an upperclassmen with a lottery pick they drafted Buddy Hield at No. 6 overall in 2016, and he lasted about half a season before getting shipped to Sacramento in the Boogie Cousins trade.

Much like Hield back then, Kispert has a chance to be the perfect complement to the established young stars in New Orleans as a floor spacer and secondary offensive weapon. Kispert is arguably the best 3-point shooter in this year’s draft and he has a great feel for playing off ball-dominant stars. He knows how to find open spaces on the floor and will immediately improve this season’s 26th-ranked 3-point shooting team.

He doesn’t necessarily have All-Star potential, but Kispert is the exact kind of player the Pels need to open up those clogged driving lanes for Zion Williamson and Brandon Ingram.

hes the same guy as last month.

very astute basketball player.
opposite of hayes last year who was clueless coming out.

but Wagner has days when his shot leaves him. other days hes a star.
not enough arc on his shot.
small margin of error.

hes a nice passer too.

skinny. SF. not a banger.

hes more complete than lsu Cam but cam is already hot all the time.
hes buddy.

I wouldn’t mind Kispert if Moody and Davion Mitchell are gone. We do need shooters.
