Where is Mac making this point? I thought he gave up following the Pels.

He briefly went on the ProPelsTalk show to talk about the Griff and Dumars moves.

It is consistently said in league circles with agents, players, coaches, execs, and journalists that the Pelicans are the worst ran team in the league.
Where? I see people complaining that the Pelicans are jinxed or people saying the Pelicans come 2nd fiddle to the Saints and things like that but nothing breaking down specifics on what makes them the worst. Also facts are we are in the worst market in the NBA. Only teams that even come close is Milwaukee and Memphis. Other teams can overcome certain obstacles because of the market and things like that. Players aren’t taking discounted deals to come to New Orleans. We aren’t players in the buy out market to fix holes on the roster when situations like that arise.

Arena we can talk about but where are the articles or any evidence comparing these things. Just yesterday people mentioned us having POBO and a GM where most other teams only have 1.

It’s possible that Gayle is waiting to sell the team because all owners will get a huge check/bonus when the league adds a new team
At this stage of her life, does that money really matter to Gayle? Does she need more money to fund the pedophile defense?

Gayle isn't selling the team. Stop with this lazy take. It's old and worn down

So people compare Gayle to that. But Gayle is still not a good owner.
Significantly better than Shinn may not be good, but people act like it can't get worse and any change will be better. We've seen worse, it can get worse.
And that's not a defense of her. I really hope the trade Zion trade mandate creates a market instead of turning into a fire sale.

Keeping Willie because we don’t want to pay his buyout
Hired Dumars because he’s friends with Mickey Loomis and he’s cheap
Never paid the luxury tax and won’t change anytime soon
It’s possible that Gayle is waiting to sell the team because all owners will get a huge check/bonus when the league adds a new team
We have the smallest front office in the league.
It’s becoming almost impossible to root for this team. Why should fans root for a team whose ownership clearly does not care in the slightest if we win or lose?
Nah, she's cheap...she doesn't care about winning, if that hasn't been obvious all along and sitll isn't now, yea...not even sure what to say to those who still don't realize that.

And Gayle will still make her NBA ownership percentage profit.

Cant believe we're about to dump Zion for peanuts. If its common knowledge that Dumars was hired to trade him, we're getting nothing.
Terrible state of affairs, and no local media to even pretend to demand some type of accountability or answers. The channel 6 news is literally running Dell Demps/Monty Williams footage to cover the Dumars hire.

We don't know that. Depends on the market for him.

Well not many organizations voluntarily trade the best young player in the NBA like the Clippers did.
But what does that have to do with my original statement. He picked the best of the best to compare it to then came with the correlation that we are the worst because we don’t stack up to them. If his argument was that as a small market team you have to go above and beyond to stack up with the big markets then I could get on board with that. That’s not the route he went though.

every one compares us to okc. both tanked. traded all stars for young players and draft picks. one team succeeded, one team failed miserably. who would have thought if you hire and pay for the best people to study and draft well you'd be good, instead of having a middle aged man whose only accomplishment was being gm when lebron came back to Cleveland. fact is you have to spend money to make money. the pelicans aren't willing, and the thunder apparently are. and the results speak for themselves.

Franchise will be packaged up, sold and shipped off to LV before long.

From what I've read from his reporting, he's been the primary local Zion apologist. Everybody's fault, except for Zion.
Posted on 4/16/25 at 1:43 pm to Pelicans15
Griff just made piss poor decisions. Some of his draft picks were ok. It was trading numerous assets for sub par players and then more assets to get rid of them.
And then his infactuation with BI. Most Laker fans could see he was not a winning player back when he was still on their team.

$300M expansion check should be paid into an arena.

If everyone says it, at a certain point we have to acknowledge the reality of the situation
Where is this all said?
