re: Scoop B says we want to trade for CP3 - eyeran
This I don’t understand the Allen love on here. Weird fit and you’re gonna have to pay him in a couple years.
A player like Allen fits fine with guys like KD, Kyrie, Joe Harris, Levert, etc. because he doesn't occupy the same space as any of those guys. Thats not the case with Zion...

re: Scoop B says we want to trade for CP3 - eyeran
Allen is probably the most important player in the deal to me. I don’t do it without him involved.
Why though? He's an antiquated player-type thats about to get an extension. Im not paying 15+ million to a center thats gonna clog the lane for Zion. Who's winning in 2020s nba ba...

re: Doc Rivers - eyeran
Doc is only good with really good teams, and then he’s still not that good
Incredible how in the moment people can be. He probably did the best coaching job of his career just last season. Led a team full of 6th men, with two rookie starters to the playoffs in the west last year and...

re: NBA Thread: Patton's C's vs c on z's Heat, SDVTiger's Clippers vs Frac the world's Nuggets - eyeran
Boston totally turned Jaylen Brown into a bystander down the stretch of that game. Did he get a single touch that wasn't an offensive rebound? The entire offense was Tatum and Kemba isos....

re: JJ Sounds Unlikely to Re-Sign After Next Year - eyeran
JJ took the biggest check he could get. Nothing wrong with it. He's a very smart guy. So, there's absolutely no way he thought NOLA was gonna compete for championships in his two years here, after trading Anthony Davis....

re: How does the roster improve with ONLY major trades? (old thread remix) - eyeran
[link=(http://www.espn.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=y29tzlpx)]Done[/link] There are picks involved in here obviously. We pick between the GS pick this year, or their Minny pick next year. Tom Haberstroh knows GS well and he was pretty matter of fact about them going after Jrue this offseason....

re: Woj: dantoni leaving HOU - eyeran
KOC: No surprise here that Mike D’Antoni isn’t going back to Houston. There have been rumblings for weeks that he could be headed to the Pelicans.
70 year old guy doesn't leave a job without knowing he has another locked up. By far the least inspired choice left on the board. Con...

re: Pelicans offseason thread: NBA draft - Nov. 18/ Pelicans pick 13, 39, 42, 60 - eyeran
Just a thought, but with HOF guys like Nash having the rep to be able jump the line right into head coaching jobs...what about Tim Duncan? I was really shocked he came back to basketball at all. I figured he'd chill on an island somewhere forever. The fact that he came back to grind it out as an ...

re: Pacers Start Interviewing - eyeran
Bill's a dipshit, but he obviously knows people around the league. And he's very openly friends with D'antoni's boss. Maybe its nothing. I'm just not sure why national guys would connect Mike D to NOLA when it would seem like a downgrade from Houston, the Rockets want him back and we just fired h...

re: Pacers Start Interviewing - eyeran
Howard Beck brought up D'antoni and the Pelicans quickly in passing on his podcast today. We've heard nothing about what the Pelicans are doing, but thats the 2nd national guy to mention D'antoni and New Orleans. Bill Simmons brought it up a few weeks ago in a way that made it seem like he actually ...

re: Billy Donovan and OKC parting ways. - eyeran
If nothing else, Donovan might push one of our candidates down to us. Lue for example, whether we like him or not, might be sitting on that Philly job with us as a backup. If they swoop in for Donovan, he falls in our laps and with less contract leverage....

re: Billy Donovan and OKC parting ways. - eyeran
Ain’t a peep leaking out about ours after the initial “Kidd and Lue” stuff. Either we are keeping it VERY close to the vest or Griffin was 100% serious about no rush and we haven’t even started interviewing yet.
Said it during Griffin's presser, but I think he told us what was up wh...

re: Nola.com Coaching Profile: Darvin Ham - eyeran
Last time around we were looking at guys like Gentry, JVG, Del Negro, Scott Skiles and Fred Hoiberg. None of those guys are still in the league, and they're all unlikely to get another HC job. ...

re: Bird Writes: 3 ideal picks at 13 are Patrick Williams, Kira Lewis, and Poku - eyeran
Gone back and looked at Williams a lot and i'm still not sure what he's good at. He won't come into the league with many NBA skills. Most guys have to improve their game to succeed in the NBA. Williams will have to develop entire skill sets that aren't there at all, to make it....

re: Coaching Prospect: Dan Craig. Get on board the hype train. - eyeran
I’d take Gentry getting a 5 year extension over one season of Jackson. I despise that frick.
lol. I get it. I just think people let their hatred of him as a broadcaster cloud their perception of him as a coach. He was...fine, as a coach. Not great. But not worthy of the hatred he get...

re: Coaching Prospect: Dan Craig. Get on board the hype train. - eyeran
I agree i think Griff wants someone he can somewhat control. That sounds like a bad way to say it, but i think it's more just having someone that has the same vision for the teams future and is willing to accept losses to do the "right thing" at times.
Same nonsense happened last time....
